ghosting vs fresh install

I just got a new Hard drive and wouuld like to ghost my older one onto it for convenience, do you think it will cause instability?
system is p4 HD's are both IBM, OS win 2k pro- looking forward to XP, been using it at work , damn its sweet )

A fresh install is always the best, but IM in csame situation you are in and Im ghosting!

uhoh, hehe leme know how it works out in say. ohh 3 months hehe goodluck, ill prolly fresh install i dont have that much on the old drive anway, just wanted to save some time. heehe

Ghosting (Norton Ghost) works well; I did it, transferring my single HD to a 2-drive RAID 0 array. I had some registry probs at first, which NortonSystemWorks fixed...but they kept coming back.

I don't know whether it was the Ghosting, or the fact that my Win98SE installation was 7 months old, but it finally collapsed, giving me BSOD's and hardlocks.

Clean install is a PITA, but more than worht it in the stability you gain. Clean, all the way.
