i want it

Its a Zalaman... you can buy them at Frys for ~$40.

IMO this entire thing is a huge waste of case space. Then again, I can't live with on-board audio as it sounds like shyte to me.

Reminds me of the Artic Circle people used to put on Slot A Athlons.

I'll patiently wait for the Zalman ZM80D-HP, thanks. This thing is a monstrosity. Who needs something that big with that much noise?

For some people here I'm getting tired of saying this: THIS 120MM LOW RPM FAN IS VERY SILENT. LOW RPM= LOW NOISE---> BIGGER FAN= MORE CFM. LOW+BIG= SILENT BUT GOOD PERFORMER.

The Zalman ZM80D-HP can cool the cards without a fan. Is it quieter than no fan?

Obviously is not, but it performs much worse w/o fan and Giant III can also do it with no fans. But I want all so a balance is needed.

Its still not "silent", as you said.

That's true. My $30 each 120mm fans @ 5v aren't SILENT. They still make some noise, albeit very very little. Thermaltake doesn't make quiet stuff. They just don't. They make cheesey overdone crap, that's all they've ever done.

Thermaltake HS is noisy... ok now a piece of metal is noisy... think whatever you want.

You're being unneccesarily noisy. I think I need to undervolt you.

I wouldn't mount that fan directly ON the card, it will just create more turbulence, and more noise. Like someone else suggested get a Zalman bracket and hang it off that, putting some breathing room for the air to escape once it has hit the card.

How fast can you OC your 9800? My 9800np is @ 451/340 with a Zalman heatpipe getting some help from a ultra low rpm 92mm fan that is underneath my HDs providing some cooling there as well. No exahust fan either.

If you wanna be the king of silent & functionality get the Zalman heatpipe case, until then you're the king of overkill

I'll be going w/ the Zalman Reserator I think. Silent water cooling.

The Zalman fanless case has problems w/ high powered rigs like mine.

Hey, you should say: McArra, the king of silent overkill LOL!!

I'm sorry, but with those 2 120mm fans visible in your pics and the large flower cpu cooler, your computer is anything but silent.

i'd suggest moving your case away from the wall a bit, give that hot exhaust somewhere to go...instead of against the wall where it makes it harder for the rest of the warm air to get out of your case.

1. There are 3 faces, which look like they're all one piece.

2. In light of 1., wtf does it have heatpipes between the two main faces?

3. The ENTIRE point of a heatsink that size is to get rid of the active fan on a video card.

4. In light of 4., if you have adequate airflow in your case, you don't need another fan on that heatsink.

Crap design, looks like a ricer... all it needs now is a spoiler with a type-r sticker on it.

It is over 20cm from the wall, so that's not a problem.

Whats the dB on that 120mm?

I don't know but you can't hear it when it is inside the case, is a very low rpm one.

eastvillager;
1. the fan increases the performance of the cooler a lot.
2. the heatpipes help a lot in the disipation, and is not a single piece, there are 2.
3. the fan also improves the airflow.
4. there's only that fan in the heatsink.

I bet that thing is pretty quiet; the loudest fan I've ever heard was one of those itsy bitsy ones on a PNY 5200 that my friend gave me to stick in a back-up rig. It sounded like a horde of bees was inside the case.
