Gmail acting weird for anyone?

Is it just me or everyone? It sometimes just disconnects me and now the chat box isn't working (has been trying to reconnect for about an hour)

Started this morning. Doing this for anyone else?

sorta. ive re-read some sent messages and it was trying to open the messages in new popup windows...its never done that before.

as for getting disconnected from chat, that happens pretty frequently to me. it usually comes back pretty quickly, however.

Well chat usually does reconnect quickly but it's been like this for over an hour.

And what does we're back mean

ha, when this thread was first posted I just passed it because it was yet another is gmail down thread. Just now my firefox addon tells me I have new gmail, and when I try to open it from my inbox, it just says loading on top of the web page. Oh noes gmail is broked!

when the chat disconnects you'll get a message that reads something like 'trying to reconnect in 30s,' and when it comes back, you'll see a message that reads '...and we're back!' that replaces the 'trying to connect' messages.

Alright, it's been over 24 hours and chat still isn't up...this is really bugging me.

I'm about to sign up for a Yahoo account. Actually I already have a name or whatever for Yahoo Answers, so I guess I am already signed up.....

OK suddenly it works now...after installing AVG...

at the bottom of the gmail page, you have several options.

Gmail view: standard | turn off chat | basic HTML Learn more

make sure you have standard selected.

its pretty small and easy to miss.

I'm logged into both Gmail and Gmail for Domains and both are working fine.

I'm having problems today, I can't compose or reply to anything with firefox. It just says "Loading". Works with IE6.

About 6 months ago I was unable to load Gmail in anything but basic HTML mode for several weeks in IE7 or Opera. (FF continued to work fine)

Then the issue went away as quickly as it came with no explanation & its been problem-free since.
