really good movie. really good acting...good mixture of action/drama/some humor. good movie overall. throughly enjoyed it.
cant help by cheer for tom cruise in that scene where he fights the ninja's alongside katsumoto

I can't believe I actually suggested we see Stuck on You instead of Samurai...

I was getting nervous that it'd be too gory/bloody and I didn't want to be in that kind of mood when we got out.

But luckily we stuck with the original plan. I thought it was pretty good...and the gore/blood factor wasn't so much that I'd be sickened..(although I did turn my head for a couple scenes that I thought i wouldn't be able to handle).

The scenes where the dude's son died and at the end when the dude died and when Tom Cruise went to see the emperor at the end..oh man..so sad.

LOVE IT.

Only thing I missed was the cool music from theatre trailer that got my blood flowing. At least I missed it anyway. Was waiting for it just prior or during a fight scene, but it never happened.

Much funnier than I expected.

I know the emperor was supposed to be young and naive and whatever..

but did anyone else think he was just a bit TOO girly? ehh...especially when he spoke in English. It was weird.

Emporeres are awesome and all powerful. I once saw a guy drop a spoon in front of the Emperor and the Emperor killed everyone in the town!!!!!!!!!

I have been on a "movie fast" for the past month or so in anticipation of ROTK... going for the 12:01 show tonight. This weekend I'll probably go out to see Last Samurai considering the positive reviews.

Sure nice fight scenes and all, but scenes like being shot 8 times and still fighting ruin a movie for me. Also, cruise and katsumoto riding towards a barrage of machine gun fire and the entire army falling yet those two being the sole survivors. Come on...Cruise didnt even have a fvcking helmet. Extreme lack of realism spoils a good movie for me. Just too much heroism. It's not like this is the matrix where ppl dodge bullets!

The portrayal of honor and culture was top notch and I have nothing against that.

I rate it 7/10

I got my tickets for the LOTR's Trilogy for today, leaving work in 30 mins to go watch 12 hours of LOTR's. W00T!!!

over rated? he's been in awesome movies, and has had a long, successful career in the movie industry.
