Yeah, it is a referral link, and if you don't want to use that link, that's fine by me. Just figured if people want to join, might as well help a guy out. When you do sign up, it doesn't make a huge difference whether you joined through the referral or not.
Here's the link to join without the referral:

For more of an explanation of the game:
You create a player and choose a position. Each position will cost a certain amount of flex points. You start off with 400 flex points. Each position costs a different amount (i.e. QB is 300, OL is 100). You can buy more (with real money) or get more through referrals (thus my initial post with the referral link). With the flex points, you can level up your player (up to three times a season).
Once you create a player, you have to find a team. Before, you'd be offered 3 contracts from CPU run teams. Now, all the teams are human controlled, so you kind of have to sell yourself. They have forums where you can try to find teams.
Once you join a team, you can gain XP points through game experience and training. When you level up, you can add more attributes to your player (i.e. strength, speed, vision, tackling, etc.). One season lasts a little over a month.
It's pretty fun. Doesn't take up too much time.
One thing to consider when creating a player, increase your stamina. If your stamina is high, you will bet more playing time. With more playing time, you get more XP.
