Nice, now it's stickied. Guess my plans are gonna have to take ANOTHER small break. I strained my hip flexor doing GHD situps and pushing it during BJJ. I'm taking today off 'cause I can barely walk. Probably tomorrow too, but I'll try to do some upper body stuff. *Sigh* So disappointing

I'm 5'10", 217 lbs., currently cutting fat. Just got back into exercising in October. I'm currently doing CrossFit as my main workout. I will most likely be adding a Starting Strength variation to my workout schedule this year. These are my goals:

400 lb. deadlift
300+ lb. squat (need to get my form dialed in)
175 lb. shoulder press
20 consecutive pull-ups
185 lb. body weight at 10% body fat

My main goal is to just get healthy and fit. I've never been overall fit in my entire life, so I want to build a good solid base of strength, cardio, and speed over the next 11 months, and get my body to a healthy weight. After I accomplish that, I will focus more on specific strength or sport-specific goals.

Update on my goals:
Currently 205-207 lbs., 19% body fat. The past month hasn't been too good for weight loss, but I'm attempting to hit 200 by the end of April. Yesterday I deadlifted 345 and squatted 250 (although I could have gotten more on the squat, I was doing it without a squat rack and didn't want to have to dump it). Still at 150 on the SP. I can now do 11 consecutive pull-ups; my problem isn't so much strength as it is grip. I have really small hands and fingers for my size. My cardio has increased tremendously from doing Crossfit, and now I'm doing a hybrid of CF 3x a week and Stronglifts 5x5 2 times a week in order to reach my strength goals while still losing weight and maintaining GPP.

I've also decided that after summer is over (should be 185 by around July) I will most likely bulk up to about 200 lbs. in order to increase my strength and size. If I do that I believe I can hit my goals fairly easily.

If you can only deadlift 115, then you cannot squat 200.*

*Unless there is something seriously wrong with your hands.

1000 pounds combined squat/dead/bench.

Currently at 600. The next 200 should be easy. The last 200 will be a bitch, I'm guessing.

I'm currently at 157 pounds, about 9-10% bodyfat. My ultimate goal is 170 pounds, about 5-6% bodyfat.

I realize this is fairly unrealistic, considering I'm in pretty good shape and work out pretty hard as it is. It isn't something I expect to attain in 2008. But why set a goal that I'll hit and become complacent?

As for actual lifting goals, let's say

Bench: 265x1
Deadlift: 455x1
Squat: 415x1

I don't know what my current maxes are, back when I did some powerlifting stuff in college I did 245 bench, 365 squat, 395 deadlift. I weighed about 163 then, but it was at the height of my college...ahem..."diet", so while I was wrong I wasn't in particularly good shape.

well, my physical therapist assures me my back is fine. today was my first day back in the gym starting back with my routine. back is fine, i can lift plates/dumbbells off the ground no problems, my back is fine and strong. i'm going to avoid deadlifts or rows until i'm sure it's back to 100%.

i've lost quite a bit of strength, and 10lbs, but i'm just glad to be back in the gym finally. i'll assess where i'm at this week and make some solid strength goals for myself

I recently saw pictures of myself when I was at 185. Not really skinny, but much healthier looking than the 206 I'm at right now. Goal is to drop the weight by the end of the year.

2. To compete in and complete a half marathon (first time)

3. To compete in and complete an olympic distance triathlon or an Xterra (first time)

4. To go into 2009 injury free so I can get ready for my next set of goals (already set)

10K: 36:00

Well, after my first season, I only ran 5Ks and a half marathon. Got my 5K time down to 16:54 (from 17:24) and my half down to 1:19:05 (from 1:21:23). Don't think I'll be running any miles or 10Ks this year.

This goal thread is going great.

I am not carrying over-weight. But still, I am regularly doing exercise to avoid gaining fat.

So my goal is to keep on doing workouts.
