Going to Europe for a month

Hey guys,

I leave tomorrow at 8:00PM PST from Oakland Airport to Stockholm Sweden for two days, then London for several days, followed by Germany until July 11th when I return to California. As this will be my first time traveling abroad, I figured I'd ask here and see if anyone has some amazing pro tips or secrets/shortcuts I missed. Any advice regarding finances (money exchange, debit card usages, etc) or the locations I'm visiting also is welcome. I'm currently planning on bringing my debit card and doing a cash withdrawal at a major bank in London/Germany, and just paying the small conversion rate.

tldr: leaving in a few days, so give me some pro-tips to traveling europe; where to avoid, what to do, and where to drink awesome beers

I hope you got a no foreign transaction fee credit card with an electronic chip embedded in it. Inform the credit card company which dates you are travelling.

I took Norwegian Air from Oakland to Norway. It was really cheap ticket but very nice plane.

Sweden is great in that a lot of people speak english. Bring a waterproof rain jacket as it rained a lot. And the days are long there. 6am-6pm was bright as hell.

I actually fucked up on that and didn't get any card for traveling; I'm just going to borrow my parents credit card that is semi-set up to do this, and simply eat the 1.8% fee. It sucks, but I'm not going to stress that much over 50-60$ in total when I saved 500$ in plane tickets. As for embedded chip cards, sadly I don't but I also plan on withdrawing cash in case of that situation.

Sweden is expensive. Be prepared for that. I think they had two prices, one for dining in and a cheaper price for to go. I think my cheapest meal was at McDonalds for equivalent of 20 US dollars for a value meal.
