Going VoIP and porting.

So our little company has 3 landlines with AT&T that runs 250 a month roughly + 45 for a separate answering service. I know on skype i can get something equivalent (but with 4 channels) for just over 70 a month. Problem is from all that i can tell Skype doesn't have the ability to port in landline numbers.

So i need to find a good VoIP service that will port our numbers in (only need 2), or find some kind of forwarding service i can move the numbers to. Only problem with the forwarding service is getting my DOD caller ID to reflect our DID number.

Any recommendations?

You could try voip.ms, it's been extremely reliable for me going on 3 years.

If you were in Canada I could port the numbers for you through my work, set you up with a SIP trunk for about half of what you pay.

I talked to someone at Nextiva and they were going to get us 2 channels and 2#s for 29.95ea w/ unlimited min.

Though with them it seemed like we had to have a phone # with each channel we wanted, almost sounding like it was going to be separate trunks. With Skype it seemed like were going to have 1 phone # with as many channels as we wanted for it which is what I'd rather have.
