Did Ping make a 'Millennium' edition? Was the 'Millennium' made by someone else. I would like to know because I might get a good deal on them.

TIA

Avid golfer here, but never heard of a millenium edition set from Ping. Why don't you just give them a call and ask them?

I'm a Tommy Armour guy too but I've never heard of a Ping Millenium edition.

Off Topic: Anyone use Ping I3's here? I'm going to get new clubs next year and I heard good things about them.

When you spend around $400 and up for a new set of irons, you can be sure that they are good clubs. However, you need to swing them yourself or at least get them fitted. The perfect club for one might be a crap club for someone else. Are they iron sharft or graphite? stiff or firm? blah blah blah.

Anything made by Ping will be high quality. Hopefully they will fit your play style / swing.

Thanks ornjblud, a friend of mine knows someone at work who is selling some clubs for $200, used. They guy supposedly knows his stuff and has the Millennium clubs. I guess my friend didn't write down the proper info. or didn't tell me properly and said they were Ping Millennium.

No I haven't tested them, but they are steel shaft, don't know about the flex of the shaft. I don't think I'll get them due for a few reasons, one have to get them fitted for me and spend extra on that. Another is that the 4 iron is screwed up, he can fix it for an extra $25.00.

Another friend got custom made XPC 3 from Golfsmith irons for $275. I did test those and feel great when hitting the ball vs. my current set of irons (they are a beginning set).

Thanks all!

I am an avid golfer and the best advise I can give you is unless you play 2 or 3 times a week and practice on the off days just about any club will do. Just use something that "feels" right for you. If you want to get serious and I hope you do, get help from a qualified teaching pro to fit you with the proper clubs.

Just my $.02 from a former 8 handicap and now a 20 because I only play once a week if I am lucky.

i believe the clubs you are talking about are just knock-offs. I think you can get them here peacockgolf. No as far as I know ping never made those. I like Mizuno ...love my MP14's anyway later guys. Oh yeah since there are ppl who play golf here guess we should post are handicaps... I am a 7 handicap. Oh yeah and what 777joee said if you are just starting out get some knockoffs that are fitted to u. They are cheaper and will work fine while u learn. After you improve move to pro-line clubs and get fitted for them. A couple of degrees upright or flat can make a world of diff.

<< I am a 7 handicap. >>

I was trying to figure out my hanicap on my computer the CPU started to have smoke coming from it because my handicap is too high I only try to play once a week and the range once a week. Let's say it takes me 115-125 to finish an 18 hole course :Q

I have an old set of ping zings myself, and my woods are from the 50's, have "spacecraft quality "aluminum shafts, and flex a lot.

I work summers at a private club, and I get tons of balls for free... Pro V and what not hehe. I just bought a set of clubs for $250 just so I can play my free golf. It's not a bad deal.

I feel kinda weird standing on the tee deck with $250 in my bag when the guy in the group ahead of me has $2000 in his bag. It's not so bad though cause the old dude in the group behind me has his set he paid all of $20 for back in the '40s... hehe.

I had an offer once from a defensive driving instructor to work at Austin, Tx Barton Creek Country Club as one of those people who drive around in a cart to tell you to play faster, etc. It's about $150 to play at that course, seen it once before, very nice! I could gotten to play for free too. But too hard to work 2 jobs, there and Motorola.

I play golf, and I don't think Ping made a "Millenium Edition". I haven't seen any ad or anything for them in Golf Digest, sooo....

But, i'm a Titleist man myself. I love my 981's.
