I read a story about her today in the NY Times. She was pretty messed up. Her first marriage fell apart around 2014 after her tours (totaling 14 years, immediately following high school) and she meets (and eventually marries) another security kind of guy she works with in security (Babbitt) who had a girlfriend who gets a restraining order on our victim because she had rammed her car into said girlfriend's car 3 times. A year later, another restraining order. Then she goes to suburb of San Diego where she has family and buys out a pool supply business and works with family in it but it's failing, so she takes out a business loan of around 60k and almost immediately defaults. Then she becomes a Trump humper Qanon nut and it appears she was one of the more wacko people at the insurrection Wednesday. She believes they are there to take over and force a 2nd Trump term. As they storm the building, she exhorts some people, gets hoisted up to broken window by two guys, all gaga, and gets shot, a scene of wild chaos. The video of the shooting was shown on NBC nightly news Friday evening.

If a good lawyer could build a case that holds the people who deceived her accountable in a financial sense then I think you would see this kind of behavior from media personalities at least diminish because it costs them money which is all they want any way. There is a reason why Alex Jones and Fox on behalf of their personalities argue in court that their shows are purely “entertainment “ and not to be taken seriously.

Fact checking isn't necessarily something that will lead to a Ministry of Truth. If lies are perpetrated for nefarious purposes honest people have an obligation to make it known, particularly in circumstances where they can lead to creating cult figures such as Donald Trump.
