Thanks a lot for all of your responses. Good Call on the sound card. I already have an audigy but maybe I should upgrade. my price limit before monitor is ~$800 which is what that list adds up to.

And I'v foung that ZZF is better for some of those things. The 6800GS has a $20.00 MIR at NewEgg but you can't beat the free 2nd day shipping of ZZF.

Lanparty sucks, stay away from it. I had one I should know.
Get an A8N SLi 32 DELuXE with the copper heatpipe, it is substantially better.

If you have an audigy already, it's probably best to stick with that than to take money away from other parts by buying a new soundcard.

I have the 32 and it's a great board, but the Lanparty is just as good for overclocking.

If you want to go for a quiet computer then get the Asus, otherwise get the lanparty.

Both are topnotch boards.

I don't like the lanparty bob.
It didn't even hit post a fe wtimes.
It would freeze after memory testing, it's a POS

They need to get their stuff together, before I can recommend them, man.

The DFI boards are a bit picky about memory iirc.

That might have been a problem you were having. Hundreds of people here have had great success with the DFI Lanparty boards.

DFI=awsome

some people get bad boards, that doesnt mean that DFI is crappy, it just means that you got unlucky.

I would agree that teh DFI is pretty good, as i have it, but the one you picked is fine and highly rated for an integrated board.

Thank you all for your help. I think I'll be very happy with my choices.

If anyone here is in college, I recommend exploring your school's student software program. I was about to buy windows xp home from newegg for 90 bucks, but then I poked around on my schools website and downloaded an .iso of windows xp pro w/sp2 for free. It works perfectly and I have a unique serial number. That would have cost me $140+ on newegg for the oem.

Also, at least at my school, if you want to finance a computer it's much cheaper to do it through the school than through a website. In effect, you can just buy it and take the reciept to the financial aid office and they will reimburse you for the cost of the machine. Then you just have to pay them back at a much lower interest rate, if it's not subsidized already. You can even get a straight discount on the machine if you go through the school. Anyway, I thought it might help.

Legit windows for free is great.

I was able to get XP pro for $25 and Office XP for $35 through my school a few years ago.

Be aware that some schools with special educational discounts from places like dell can actually be worse deals than you can get with regular rebate deals though.
