Good Paintball guns for Beginners

Hey, i'm looking to get into paintball, but i have no idea where look for good guns.

Price preferrably between 150 and 250.

I would also suggest a Tippmann 98 for you.

I would also say look at the 2004 WGP ProStock, but the autococker workings are a little complex to be good for a beginner gun. Get the 98, and if you have some money left over get a J&J Ceramic barrel.

Definitely the first upgrade I would make to a 98. My friend has the J&J ceramic on his cocker. Once he ran full on, barrel first into a concrete wall (accidentally ), didn?t break though.

I have a 98 Custom with an 18" barrel on it. Twas a sweet gun back when I used to play. Too bad it's just sitting in my garage now.

Barrel length is a matter of personal preference. I use a 14'' one, because I like the extra 2 inches over most stock barrels. 12'' is good if you play up front in the action, and you need to keep your profile tight. As for accessories, you really don't need any, but if you like remote lines, then get one of them.

Another vote of tipmann 98. The stock barrel is not bad but most of my makers have 14" AA by Smart Parts.

Another thing to get is a good mask. For this I would go to a local shop that lets you try them on before you by. I like JT with a full hard shell mask.

First of all, if you're playing in the woods, get a Tippman 98 custom, but if you're playing speedball (all indoor, about half of outdoor), get a Spyder-probably a Spyder Imagine. Also, it's been proven that 11" is the ideal barrel length, and that anything over 14" is very bad. So I'd go for a 12" if I were you. www.pbgear.com is a good place to order from, just make sure everything's in stock.

The problems with the Tippman are: Hard for a noob to paintball to take apart and clean (very hard), field strip=just no, and it's terrible to paly speedball (indoor and some outdoor) with because of BPS (balls per second) and its size (on paintball forums, it's referred to as a walking cane.
