Good short books?

I'm looking for some short books that I can throw in my pocket on the way to the park or coffee house.

I don't like carrying bags around. I walk a lot, and carrying a book in hand can get cumbersome, especially when I'm also walking my crazy Boston Terrier.

These days I've been working on some massive non-fiction works and it's hard to stuff 800 pages in my pants.

So...what are some quality books that can fit in my back pocket?

I don't know about "back pocket," but some shorter books are The Old Man and the Sea by Hemingway and The Tesseract by Alex Garland.

It?s a good book but I think it?s over 300 pages in the version I had. I would look the exact page number but it seems my ex stole it over a year ago.

Awesomely funny short novels. Very witty dry humor. Each paperback in the trilogy is about 0.5" thick if you're concerned about stuffing your pants.

"A Day In the Life Of Ivan Denisovich" is a fantastic book and a quick read.

Most Steinbeck and Vonnegutt books are short reads as well.
