Good site for TV reviews

Its no surprise to most of you, that a search on google for LCD TV reviews won't turn up a good site for finding out which TV to buy. What it turns up is bunch of crappy content and advert and scam sites. And cnet, which is almost OK, but not really.

what is a good site i can book mark that reviews TVs, and lists specs? I've been trying to compare two TVs and decide which one is more worthy of a purchase, and i find nothing but garbage. Also, as a side note, the TVs im looking at are:

I have to wonder why the 47 is only $80 more. Any help would be appreciated. Hopefully, this is a teach a man to fish moment, and a good review site will help me make these decisions in the future. Thanks in advance.

Unfortunately, professional reviewers don't have time to review products at this end of the price spectrum.

Looking at those two models, I'd say the primary difference is that the 47" model is LED-backlit, which is cheaper to make. The 42" is a standard fluorescent backlight, which costs more, draws more power, and makes the TV thicker.

The exchange is that the fluorescent backlight will probably have better screen uniformity and a slightly better overall picture quality, but given those choices I'd probably go with the larger screen.

You could also look on Consumer Reports, which is one of the only unbiased big commercial sites I'm aware of.

Well, I went to the LG website and hooked up a comparison of the two sets:

Looks like the 42" is the next class up. Has a few more input/output ports, better contrast ratio, better built-in feature set and is most likely more easily calibrated and as more picture modes.

If you're just looking for a good tv set and aren't a pixel peeper, just get the 47". For 90% of the population, size is by far the biggest factor that contributes to happiness.
