Nintendo doesn't release their own titles on PC or really worry about competing against it like other console makers might because they have PC divisions in the company, so Nintendo just allowing keyboard and mouse connectivity is an interesting idea. I don't know what they really gain from it, but it's not like they lose anything either. A docked Switch being a living room PC is intriguing at the very least.

Maybe there'll be a new Mario Paint?

USB mice? On Switch 2? That's . . . interesting. Wonder if keyboards will follow suit?

Yup:

Of course, it also throws up plenty of new questions.

Will all USB-C mice work with the system or just a select few?

What about wireless mice?

Which games are supported?

Will we also be able to use a USB keyboard with the Switch 2?

Didyouknowgaming did a pretty in depth essay of why the pics of old retail catalogs and price comparisons to previous generations even adjusted for inflation are bullshit.

In short, many of the cited previous generations saw 1st party games discounted rapidly to $20 within a year with the console price also often getting slashed outright in half in a couple years. These days their games basically stay at their msrp forever, as does the hardware. Many of the comparisons online also compared previous generation deluxe bundles that came with a game, extra controller and peripherals or both. Nintendo is also doing away with the buy 2 for $100 thing for Switch 2 titles. Their prices have also reached near parity with their competitors despite the specs still being as low as always.

So three days before launch and no reviews for the console, no reviews for Mario Kart World yet, and apparently the reviewers don't even get the console until launch date. So is this the RTX 5060 all over again?

Maybe but knowing Nintendo it's more that they are paranoid about hackers.

They could have just given the Day 1 update to reviewers, though I guess that doesn't matter since they're not even sending units to them until Day 1. IDK smells fishy as hell. I know Nintendo doesn't allow really early reviews but after looking it up I see Switch 1 review embargo was two days before launch. Kind of makes me think I should just buy one and not do the Day 1 update and wait for CFW though just in case you're right.

Doesn't seem like these have been at all hard to get in today's Gamestop preorder from reading the r/Switch2 reddit. Lots of people talking about showing up right around the 3PM time preorders went up in person and getting a system. Probably won't be too hard to go get one in person at Best Buy tonight either at midnight EST (11PM CST, 9PM PST) if you don't have a pre-order. Betting these will end up pretty hard to get after this initial stockpiled launch run sells out though.
