Dang, I never got to play 3D Mario Kart, that sounds awesome!
If you have a New 3DS or a New 3DS XL, eg the ones with the eye tracking cameras to keep the 3D effect in focus, it's super impressive with the 3D slider maxed. I heard the 3D is terrible on the old 3DS models though and is really hard to keep in focus. There were so few 3DS games that I thought used the 3D effect well. Off the top of my head the only other two I was really impressed by the 3D on were Zelda A Link Between Worlds and Mario Golf... or maybe Yoshi Golf? I forget. I got it free with my New 3DS XL because the pawn shop I bought from kept telling me as-is so I 'forgot' to mention they left the game I was testing the system on and bought the system as-is with the Mario Golf cartridge plugged in. Also got it cheap because they didn't know there was such a thing as a New 3DS XL and when I asked if it was a New 3DS XL they looked at me like I was idiot and told me no it's used.

Also saw it was on a pretty old firmware so knew it had been sitting in the shop half a year and used that info to haggle it down cheap too lol.

I finally sold my 2 Switch 2's. I made a whopping $141 profit off of 2 of them lol. It was either driving 10-30 mins to walmart/target to return them, or just stop by the UPS store next to my gym and drop them off there and make some money off of it, so I went with the latter.

The demand just is not there for the system. I'm guessing it is because there is nothing on it except Mario Kart. It's basically a glorified HD Switch 1 at this point.

What, are you mad you didn't get more for scalping it?

No it's just more of an observation than anything.

I preordered them with anticipation of keeping at least one of them, but as it got closer and I could handle the FOMO (which was none really) and realized there are no games on it aside from Mario Kart, I decided not to keep them. Mario Kart looks like a lot of fun but not $530 worth of fun, and there are zero games on the horizon that interest me this year.

I did the same thing with PSVR2 although with that I ended up canceling my preorder like a week before release, and I was one of the first people to preorder that thing.

It just looks like the demand for Switch 2 is not there at all. If Nintendo continues on this trajectory with the Switch 2, this may be a FAFO moment for them IMO.

I mean if the demand wasn't there, you wouldn't have been able to scalp in the first place.
True, but it also could be the person is too lazy to do the leg work and would rather spend extra money to just get one asap. They are being restocked at Walmart and Best Buy pretty regularly I believe.

We'll see once the initial hype dies down. But compared to previous consoles and how much over retail you could sell them for, this is by far the worst it's been as long as I can remember which goes back to PS2 days.

I know multiple people who walked into Target and Best Buy on launch day like 2 hours after they opened and they picked up a Switch 2 from the shelf. And some of those people are local and I'm not in the middle of nowhere or anything, I'm in the DC Metro area.

Looks like it doesn't last long, at least from what I see on Nowinstock.

Ironically (since we are talking about scalping) if there's any softness, it's because the console is a lot more expensive than Switch 1.

If there was a BOTW level launch title it would have sold out in an hour and they'd be selling (not asking, actually selling) for $1200 on ebay. The softness in launch is largely from a lame launch library.

Yeah it's because the console literally has 1 game and nothing even really announced. It's like the N64 all over again, except even worse (games wise).

Xbox360 was $400 at launch and I sold multiple for over $1k. The Switch 2 being more than Switch 1 has absolutely nothing to do with the resale market IMO. It's just the fact that it has no games and none announced.

One thing that hurts the scalpers is that it's easily the highest supply ever for a console launch.

Probally past 5 million already.

The way consoles are meant to be launched.

Let the early adopters have the systems first at affordable prices. Better than the scalping crap.

The early adopters reap the benefits later while the stragglers cry their hearts out for failing to take action.
