GOrb or Athlon Stock HS?

Which would keep my Athlon 1100 Cooler?
The stock AMD Athlon HS looks a whole lot beefier than a GOrb, but the GOrb is alot 'prettier'
I took off the stock AMD fan and put on a YS Tech fan in it's place.

Any suggestions?

GOrb is EVIL!!!!!!!!!!

The retail AMD heatsink is actually a lower end Taisol. It is a reasonably good heatsink but if you want something better go for it's big brother the CGK760092. But whatever you do keep that GOrb away from that processor.

my 1100 retail hsf had a delta fan on it runs about 5000 rpm thou it is only a 15mm width fan. Keeps it ok i guess actually down to 46C today, with mild websurfage.

Do what ericd said. Don't let that orb anywhere near your precious Athlon!! The stock heatsink isn't all that bad. If you want something better consider either the CGK760092, an Alpha PAL6035, or a Global Win FOP32-1. All will do a fine job.

Also, won't the gorb (original) crush the core of an Athlon? You need the silver one. Actually the whole orb series isn't any better than the stock athlon hs.

That's what I thought. Thanks for the help!! I was about to get one from the FT/FS Forum just for the heck of it but wasn't sure...
