I don't know Munky's cpu,mem this is of course the main reason that this might be happening,but there's rumour that have base in experiments with benchmarks that xt has tighter timings than xtx. So in a identical clock per clock comparison between xt and xtx, xt should be faster.
So ceteris paribus, if he o/c's his xt at xtx speeds he should score higher than if he flashes his xt to xtx bios.

Are you referring to me?

I was merely posting my score just as a baseline score, nothing more nothing less..

Obviously I don't play 3dmark, but non the less, it can be helpful when trying to gauge performance.

This card is quite a bit faster than my x1800xt though

I have had to use overclocker to clock mine..Why are you not using the 6.2's?..

Ya, using ATI Tool. The overclocking tool worked fine too, but since the ATI Tool is all-in-one, I decided to just stick with it.

Yea, that's the way to go, I can't seem to get ATI Tool to keep from locking me up for some reason. Probably need a clean install of windoze..

I got my XT back from RMA today, and it looks like the cooler is properly installed this time, so I'm happy

Although this weekend it gets torn off, and replaced with an MCW60 waterblock

Just like my x1800xt, my 1900xtx overclocks like $hit using ATI tool... Clocks are recognized @ 500/600.

As soon as you run above 650mhz/775mhz BAM!

Are you using the Beta 13 version? That version works perfectly for me as long as I disable ATI Hotkey and ATI Smart. I get much better scores than if I oc using the Overclocking Tool.

Are you raising the voltage up from what it drops down to in 2D mode? On my card (X1900XT) stock volts for 2D are 1.175v. 1.3v is normal (IIRC) for 625MHz.

Actually it's 1.45 on my BBATI X1900XT, verified with Rivatuner.

If you are overclocking with ATI Tool, you need to set the voltages yourself.

Rivatuner reads the 3D core volts as 1.45V. Someone over at XS decided to go the more trusted route and measured it with a multimeter and got 1.4V. I believe the other voltages are the same between 3D and 2D, although I'm not absolutely sure about the VDDCI.

I dunno what the wattage consumption is on the X2, but I'm running fine with my XTX and the Tru Power 2.0 430W.

This is an off question, but I only get about 8k in 3dmark05 - can my CPU be the issue preventing me from getting 10k?
