Until March 10, 2007 at Office Depot after you factor in the In Store Coupon and Mail In Rebate you can get:

HP7410 All In One Inkjet .. Printer / Scanner / Copier / Fax / Auto Sheet Feeder / Auto Duplexer / Wireless Network Connectivity / Dual Paper Trays

For a Total of: $199.99 + TAX ... not available by mail order .. this unit normally sells for $499 or so
depending on the store

At that price I will probably get one myself and install it later this year when my ink for my X73 runs out.

Just for the uninitiated, I've had two printers in this series, and they are the singular reason I'll never buy HP inkjets again. They dry up in weeks if you aren't a frequent user, my machines had expirations on the ink that always arrived before the carts were even close to empty, and the software is God-awful. (e.g., the ADF will scan two sided, but only for copies, not scans; no on-computer FAX reception with the last two models I had, something that was present on my 1995-era sheet-fed AIO).

Everyone has an opinion, and I don't want to get into a huge debate, because I'm SURE that lots of people are very happy with these machines, but after having two of them for the last several years, I think these inkjets are crap, and that's why they are so cheap.

Oh, and ink replacement carts and heads for my last one cost me some $250 for all 4 colors for cartridges that expire in 18 months. I think the new models reverted to a different cartridge design, but they might still be very expensive, something that I was not able to obviate with refills because of the expiration issue that was non-defeatable on the HP AIOs I had and have.

My $0.02.

Mrmm, an all-in-one with built-in wireless? Interesting idea, could put it pretty much anywhere a power plug is. Nice.

And to the OP, best topic title of the year sofar!

Well, if I can find one, I will buy it for myself ... seems most of the Office Depots (at least in NJ) only get one or two at
any one time .. and they sometimes count the Display Model in the Stock (even though they do not sell the Display unit)
End result: These are selling out faster than they come in the door ... you just have to be lucky to find one "on the shelf"
when you get there ... as to wether or not it will scan Double Sided I am not sure about that .. I hope it would

I don't even want to talk about Office Depot rebates. I bought a very nice T5500 dual core Lenovo laptop (gave to a relative), sent in the rebates a few days later in effort to recoup something. This was in very early January.

Threre still is no $150 rebate record online that OD received it, although I tracked a USPS certified receipt to show they DID get it 2 months ago. Their phone system said, "wait longer, click". I emailed and got two replies requesting more information. When I provided more information they said "sorry, not our rebate, goodbye". I can feel the vaseline greasing up the cheeks on my butt right now. Soon it will be time to either pay a visit to a store, or OD HQ down the street with Guido and Nunzio.

The $100 Lenovo rebate was in the same boat until I called them, only voice mail, and they did not call back in 3 days as promised. They have updated online and says it was received and will be sent in a couple more weeks. My fingers are crossed on this one.

The free Vista upgrade, which actually cost $10+ for shipping. It has said "processing" since about Feb1.

I have another $30 coming from a Microfly case at Frys.Com and no more. I just sent it in recently, so they are excused.

I this is the end of my rebates, forever. There I feel better, sorry to wreck the thread but I needed to vent.

Well, I was able to get one of the HP7410 units this morning ... Charge came to $347 total
with $125 Mail In Rebate Form .. so that brings it to about $222 with the Tax (NJ 7%)

Only problem now, is I don't know if it will fit in my computer desk, on the slide out printer
shelf ... if it doesn't and I can't modify it, then I need a Printer Stand .. which will run about
$100 or more ... there goes my savings on the printer unit
