Great Game Graphics: Who Cares?

I am a graphics guy since I only spend mostly no more than 15 minutes on any game. I just like to look at the graphics. Maybe I should take the time to enjoy the game. However, most of the new games got good graphics but borring game play.

While Gun Metal offers more than enough graphics fire power to hold your interest, the question is "Is this enough?" In our opinion, the answer is no; you most likely will not play Gun Metal after you have beaten the game once. It seems that, in many ways, Gun Metal has fallen victim to the trend of being a game that is more of a technology showcase than a game to be played. Still, it does offer some things that are unique and some concepts that will definitely be making their way into other products.

No, the best ones have the above in addition to awesome graphics. Perfect gameplay with perfect graphics always beats perfect gameplay with crappy graphics.

I don't think any current games meet your above criteria.

Another voice in the choir here.

Graphics don't make a game. Unreal 2 has very great graphics, but the gameplay was more than lacking. Same with devestation.

Games with crappy graphics are also fun. GTA3, Crazy Taxi, Deus Ex.

But games with both good graphics and gameplay are the best. Generals, Freelancer, Splinter Cell. Ghost Recon.

As someone said, great graphics don't save a crap game. A good game, however, can make it very far with bad graphics.

I wouldn't say any of those games had 'crappy' graphics. Sure they don't look like prerendered movies but they're far from crappy.

The same technically hairs can be painted differently -
with estetic better made picture, so first can be - just good shown bad hair, second- stunning effect- like a sun on
clean hair.
Just add a sun - a shaders and good imager - not only good technical staff.



Have you ever seen a neon on a watered road on evening - that grapics would be stunning,
just add a good feeling of right picture and special effect showing it.

Make a water - a right blicking and contrasing and people will shut down of idea quality, but now :
Not cubical mans as in most update games- that we see today more and more often.

Until the games look like real life he is wrong. Probably an excuse to make the game compatable with grandmas P3-733 and GF2 or worse.

There are over 3600 games published every year and very few get reviewed by the gaming media. I think to get reviewed you need at least a minimal level of graphics.

I will agree on console it less important though because right now people are playing at 480 lines. Once Real 1080i HDTV sets are around you will want realism.


Ultimatly you need awesome gameplay but graphics play a signifgant role when most games are the same conceptually and I think can make a top seller all other things being equal.

Problem- is not in much graphics in need,-
right picture may be draw by only a little number of lines- the good idea and estetics - is main thing.

There is old games that looking as "graphics is stunning", I like them today,
(I have not a bad taste between good observing people)
"Cremates the competition" - on P-133. All big journal written when seen.
