The Wendy's Baconator. I have one of those at least once per week. I actually crave it all the time. I don't know why, it's something they put in there other then the bacon that makes it taste SO good.

Mine. If your own burgers can't blow away anything from a restaurant you need cooking lessons.
Pretty much. Why do burger places try to say "It's just as good as what you make at home!"
No, it's not and it never will be.
80/20 beef, 1/2 pound patties, 4 minutes per side, add cheese, done.
You've obviously never had a Father's Office burger.
PS I have never had a home made burger that tastes better than a Whopper.
how's not having taste buds working out for you?
My favorite burger was at home, easily.
Next was... maybe Farmer Boys local chain place in Southern Cal...
I'm pretty sure my taste buds are 100x more refined than yours.
It has a lot to do with the recipe and your cooking skills too - I didn't like homemade burgers until I learned how to grill a few years ago (thanks to iamwiz), I prefered a Whopper any day. I still like Whoppers, but it's a different kind of burger than what I make at home, just like Wendy's has a different kind of burger. Just depends on what you're in the mood for. I went for 20+ years not really liking anything other than Whoppers and stuff because I just didn't know how to cook a delicious burger at home, so it's not necessarily his taste buds that are off

Johnny's burger. homemade 1/2 lbs, 1 cup fresh mushroom, fresh lettuce & tomatos, 1/2 slice pickles, cheddar, and a plate full of homemade fresh fries.
The Canadian government shut the locally own 6 year old restaurant down, because the owner refused to collect or pay what he deemed to be the illegal GST tax (Good & Services Tax). It is sad that in 1992 the Canadian government/thiefs destroyed the contitution and ordered the restaurant owner to pay $180,000 in back tax that he never collected.

Plaid Rhino, unfortunately it is a local establishment far far away from where I am living now
The owner was there most of the time, even handled some of my takeout orders, good people running it.
As far as chains go, Five Guys is OK... for a fast food joint. Probably the best fast food burger around, IMO. They need to work on their fries. Even their Cajun fries are bland or maybe I grew up too close to New Orleans and have too high spice standards.

Well my point was more that it's hard to replicate restaurant burgers because of the equipment. Most people have gas grills at home.

Father's Office Burger
"And here it is folks. A burger which few can truly compare to. A huge medium rare piece of dry aged beef that sits upon a fluffy French bun, topped with caramelized onions, applewood bacon compote, gruyere, maytag blue cheese and arugula."
