Those one shot kills are either from shotguns or shots in the head. I've yet to experience a cheap death from bullets in this game

Npc's should NEVER get headshots.. it is an unfun mechanic. Just imagine how many games would suck if you suddenly lost %70 of your health because the computer "got a lucky crit" on a normal attack?

It may have been a shot gun, but the game doesn't really feature a kill cam or any way of determining the weapon used when you die so it is hard to tell.

I don't think I have had a cheap shot, either.

I haven't done hunting and won't. Stuff like hunting, yoga, triathlon it's all just nonsense game fuller bullshit and I never do it (although you're forced to do a little yoga).

My main complaint about gun fights is that vehicles are very hard to destroy now. They end up becoming undriveable well before they are blown up. That's fine, but it's also hard to blow up cars like cop vehicles, though maybe that gets easier with more powerful weapons later.

I've had a few cheap deaths. I was thrown through the windshield of a car and died instantly. That was a bit lame. =(

I also played pretty much all day yesterday which I haven't done in years- haven't really had any cheap deaths yet either. There have been a few missions that for whatever reason I kept fucking up at certain points- but usually just take a few attempts to get past it- nothing too frustrating yet.

Were you low on health at the time? I think it's quite understandable that you lose at least some health when flying through a windshield.

You guys seen a lightning storm yet?

Looks pretty impressive, so I drove around in a golf cart to see if I might get struck by lightning, but didn't.

You have to use cover in this game or youll a cap busted in your ass

My recent one shot was a mini events with 2 bikers in a wooded area. My car wasn't doing to well so I stopped , got out, and busted a cap in one of the bikers but then died instantly. While I didn't see the other biker I heard him and I believe he drove in close when he started shooting, but it was only a single shot. It was in a split second and I had no time to get behind a tree or my car yet.

After all the time I spent in the game, I had that happen just once with trevor. I chalked it up to most of my high speed driving being with franklin but trevor has a pretty high strength so maybe I finally exceeded a threshold.

I love that cars take less damage, although it seems like police encounters, the slamming they do against the car ends up messing up the tires. Can't remember how many police encounters I have had where I needed to get a new car cause the wheel got jammed.

Yup, that was amazing. I'm surprised it was the first time I've seen that in a videogame, which is kind of strange. It worked so well. It would have been awesome to see a funnel cloud form when the lightning hit!

i like that I can mark the map with "point of interest" markers. would be even better if I could name them though.

I got run over by a stationary ATV yesterday.

I was riding it and hit a truck, and was obviously flung over the handle bars. I landed underneath the ATV that was hung up on the rear quarter of a truck making a tent almost, when I went to stand up I died instantly.

I guess it's coded that if you're ever touched by the bottom of a vehicle's wheels it acts like you've been run over.

It was kinda shitty.

That sucks about the whole customized car thing. That is one thing I loved in Saints Row 3 (haven't played 4 yet). You park your pimped out car in your garage, it is always there and even if you destroy it, it shows back up in the garage. Made upgrading cars worthwhile.

I have Saints Row 4 and i look it more then the third but none of my customized cars ever disappeared

One of my first missions as Trevor happened during a lightning storm. It lent some real gravitas and drama towards an already fairly epic scene. And I like how running around in the rain actually makes your clothes wet... it's the little things that really make this game shine, you know?

5 days later and I still usually have no idea where I am or where I'm going, and I love it.

Man, maybe I'm not far enough or something (just did first heist), but I'm not liking this game as much as I have past gta games and other open world games. I think saints row has a lot of good ideas that gta could have used. Especially the way vehicle upgrades and storage was handled.

It just seems slow and clunky. Like if I jump and try to climb some shrubs, he'll hit the shrubs and fumble around on the floor. Many of the cars are completely sucky to drive...spiraling out of control constantly. Police sometimes take forever to escape even on one or two stars. The missions are mostly just fetch missions. There are some glitches that are so annoying---I one time went past the guy behind the counter at the gun store and couldn't get back out. My bike got stuck and took me for fucking ever to get unstuck.

Don't get me wrong, it's fun and there are a lot of good new ideas, but maybe I had unrealistic expectations.

manbearpig, I believe the driving skill will help with the skidding out of control. I noticed I'm like a pro driver with franklin, but as soon as I jumped into trevors shoes and grabbed a sports car, I was fishtailing like crazy. I want to try and work on these stats, sadly they seem to update slow. I cant tell if they wanted us to level up pre or post end game.

I'll give you the cars being hard to maneuver. I'm not sure which character I have better skills with, but yes you will notice less skidding once you improve the driving stat. The characters felt slow and clunky until I got my stamina up and then I could run quicker. I've never had any lag and only some popup in the beginning.

Saints row may be more fluid but it's also a lot more cartoon like than gta 5. I really wonder about the car saving thing, are you saving from your phone's after parking in the garage or going in the house?

The cars I took since the beginning have been in my garage all along.

Most my deaths from cops are usually cheap deaths. I love how the cops just appear out of no where when you are hiding. Makes it kinda cheap also.

Cars seem to stay in the purchased garages, but they are of little use there. I want to use them: the problem happens when they are taken out. If you take a car out and then stumble into a mission or something there is a very good chance that when the mission is complete the car will be completely gone and you'l never see it again. I actually think the best, most forceful way to resolve this is if the game allowed you to flag certain cars as favorites. Even if you could only have one favorite at a time or something you'd at least be able to safely use the thing.

I think the line of sight requirement for police in this game is awesome. I am fairly sure that wasn't in the last GTAs, though even when it's just one star it can require being hidden for a solid half minute before they go away and that seems long.

I have had 45minute shootouts with cops while having 5 stars and the death was all me. I tried to grab a car but it didn't stop for me and ran me over lol.

The key is the choppers, or as franklin's buddies call it "the all seeing eye". Gotta take them out. You can just shoot the pilot if you get the right angle.
