Me, too, it was annoying.Well, I just got killed by a cougar... I felt like I was playing Red Dead Revolver. Immense sadness.
There is a Franklin mission where you go to Michael's house and he is not home. This starts the 'road to redemption' with Martin and his crew; with the obvious FIB intervention.
There has to be a way outside of missions to do it. I am going to try and see tonight when I get home. I will test a few different companies and their stock.
I am surprised me investing a billion dollars in a company doesn't increase it's value though. >_> That certainly would have some impact in the real world, or me selling a billion in their stock for that matter.
So I'm exploring rich houses, and go out by the pool to find a couple of topless women sunbathing. Surprised, even though the game is mature rated, after the Hot Coffee nonsense.
I think I hear the word 'fuck' about every five seconds, but nudity in the game is sure to have some idiot up in arms after they bought it for their 13 year old.
I think a lot of people are making a false case of causation. There are enough people who've tried this who have not found it possible that I'm comfortable saying there is no link at all--or if there is one it is very vague and/or not at all clear/obvious--between in-game actions and LCN stock market.I've read that doing damage to competitors sometimes works for some people but there are also plenty of posts on other forums stating it doesn't always work as expected. I haven't tried though as I don't have the means to escape after doing so much damage, I'll end up dead and loose all my money.
I thought the stock market was supposed to rise and fall based on what everybody was doing as a whole, not individual games. I remember reading that somewhere but maybe that's just for GTA Online.
Seems confusing. I've noticed that the charts on the stock market don't work properly, either. Stock market seems like they didn't quite iron out the wrinkles before go-live. Open up a poorly performing stock for example and the chart is just weird. I bought clukin bell at $24 or something, and it had a high of $41, but it's down to $16 and just keeps on falling, way below anything the chart shows. It seems to just keep plummeting and I've lost so much damn money on it now.The bawsaq market is somewhat global but there are a few affected only in your game.

Unless you are connected to the internet the bawsaq doesn't work. Why is the fact that you bought a stock that dropped confusing? The chart only shows the trend not the future.
But it doesn't show the trend; it doesn't work; it isn't accurately even showing the past. It claims to show the last week, and resting lets you blast through days. Go and rest and bring up the chart. Guess what, it hasn't changed. Its "past week" will have the far right day as today, yes, but the chart itself doesn't fucking change, which is incredible. This is a definite bug. For example I had a stock on Sunday at $16. I slept until Tuesday, opened it up, and it showed today as Tuesday but the actual chart itself had not changed _at all_. It was still claiming that Sunday the stock went up to $41, which it sure as shit never did. Yet another bug in the game. I doubt most people have bothered to see how divorced from reality these charts actually are. I know I didn't realize until a moment ago when I tested to be sure.Unless you are connected to the internet the bawsaq doesn't work. Why is the fact that you bought a stock that dropped confusing? So you're saying it's on purpose that the charts don't work? I find this hard to believe. i am saying the lines DO NOT change. They don't. Go open up a particular stock, take a picture of its chart, now sleep two days, the lines do not change at all based on those two days of sleep; even though I've progressed ahead in days the chart hasn't changed in any way other than to show the actual word of the day at the bottom of the line, but the line no longer lines up with the same day it did before. You do realize this is on purpose right? It's accurate as of that day which is the only thing that matters. Any stocks I've changed by doing the assassination missions sure does change accurately day to day and the line graph reflects it accurately. You can't go back in time, only forward by sleeping. Further you aren't supposed to get money from those missions, it's part of the story even.
I'm rolling in money and I hardly did anything...I don't understand what people mean when they say they are broke in this game.
I created an Anandtech Forum crew if anyone wants to join up.

Ah! This is exactly what I mean, with pictures, proof the stock charts are faulty:

Multiple people there saying stocks are broken. So, beyond the major problems with garages/customized cars, I can now say the stock market is quite broken as well.
First post in this thread. Look at both pictures, you'll see what's wrong.Explain what is broke. The graph moves and as far as the info on the side for high and low is concerned seems to match up.

Oh I see...I didn't know it was the same poster at first. Kind of looks like the picture is generic and pasted on.
I actually have to question what is going around regarding BAWSAQ as well. Clearly some stocks on it are entirely divorced from the community (e.g. Tickle, which raises during a sige player mission). My guess is Rockstar has it there as a placeholder that they can influence remotely but I bet it has little if not no relevance to what players are doing on the whole. Case in point ammunation should always go up as more people play the game. And it isn't like the entire world will markedly change how it plays from week to week, which would then change the market over time. I think the bulk of the stock market is a facade over randomly generated numbers that have no link to anything else. Few exceptions include mission-based modifiers.
