Ummm... how do I change Michael's shoes? I bought some different clothes including some pairs of shoes.

There is no option in the closet to change shoes. Certainly this couldn't have been overlooked?

I bought some skater shoes and its automatically equipping them when I wear a suit. I dont want to wear my skater shoes with a suit damnit, I want to wear them with shorts and a t-shirt!

I believe there is an option further down the list somewhere. I saw it once for sure.

There are two separate sections of shoes; "shoes" and "smart shoes." Dress shoes will show up in the "smart shoes" section. Whoever designed the clothing menu categories made it ridiculously counter-intuitive.

Nope, there are no shoes selections at all showing up for me.

Also, I seem to have encountered a bug. Notice what Michael is wearing as I am looking at the shoe rack. Then notice what he is wearing after I select to browse shoes - suddenly I am wearing a suit.

Why is Beta Pharmaceuticals (the stock associated with the Hotel Assassination mission) location on BAWSAQ exchange? That makes no sense. The LCN is the one that is supposed to be tied to in-game events. The BAWSAQ is the one that is supposed to be influenced by the online community. Why would they do this?

cause likely when you go online there are missions related to it.

what's the deal with the car damage in this game? I freaking roll over a giant hill and my rooftop is PRISTINE! lol

So I got curious and went out to a low corner of building stairs and rammed into it.

It wouldn't have decapitated me, but the damage DID roll the roof where I made contact with the stairs.

So....why the fuck isn't the damage modeling on the street? The damage capability IS there.

Makes GTAIV damage look like a NASA program.

I "unlocked" Trevor this weekend...this dude is freaking effed up!!!!!
Best character i've seen so far. I was laughing constantly while playing and listening to him speaking all kinds of schzits to everyone.

Love the area he lives in too, great place to steal an ATV and do some jumps and trails.

Never thought I would get into this game like that, best in the series.

For the first time I had my car roll over a hill and catch fire as soon as it was on it's roof. Other than that I've driven cars into the ground and not one caught fire unless I was being chased by police and shot at.

I wonder if it's a feature and not really a glitch...

Well the car that rolled over was beat up before I went over the cliff or hill. But you couldn't really tell it had taken damage unless you slam into a wall, or another car, a light pole. Sometimes I see the damage and other times I don't notice it, unless the car just starts going really slow.

The one thing that drives me crazy with driving are the telephone poles. They will stop anything instantly, while you can pretty much blast through anything else.

I "unlocked" Trevor this weekend...this dude is freaking effed up!!!!!

After playing through a few hours with Trevor and switching back and forth between characters, I found myself adjusting my gameplay based on what character I was.

- When I'm playing as Franklin, I'm trying to be nice and not piss anybody off by running over them or hitting their car. I stop for people being assaulted or robbed and bring any stolen good back to them.
- When I'm playing as Michael, I'll do what I have to in order get by, running over people on the sidewalk and feeling no remorse about pointing a gun at somebody to get them out of their car. It's more of a "I'll kill you if I have to" vibe.
- When playing as Trevor, I'm wreckless. If somebody honks their horn at me or cuts me off, I'll get out and shoot them through the windshield of their car. If police are chasing me, I'll kill every one of them I can. Blow everything up, I don't care. Then I'll go and stomp on the bodies after I'm done.

I didn't mean to play like this, it's just how it happened. It's fairly refreshing to play between the characters, I feel like it's easy to get invested in the world and characters that's been created.

This has been in all of them as far as I remember. It is rather silly I can blast through just about anything, but a tree or a telephone pole will stop you no matter what!

my friend brought this over yesterday and i played it a bit. doubt i'll end up buying it. i think it would be fun to mess around in for quite a bit, but i quickly remembered how old the "follow the line on map to target" design of this game gets. i also think the game does not look good graphically. i was playing it on my 120" screen and it looked pretty ugly for the most part. i'm pretty sure it was primarily due to no AA though, it really makes everything look like its "moving" because of the jaggies. definitely noticed some vsync issues too early on.

I finished the game last night.

Overall I think it's a rock solid game and I enjoyed it.

My largest critique is waste of the 3 characters. It really detracted from the story and made my decisions (the few there are) seem to hold no value. I like the concept, but I think more heists and just 1 character would have really made this game shine.

They could have allowed you to pick one of the 3 after a short intro then play one the whole game. Then use switching during heists for more dramatic gameplay effect. But as it is I wasn't making my choices, I was making Frank's choice, or Mikes choice, or Trevor's choice. This is a lot different that GTA IV where I wasn't making Nikko's choice, but my own.

Lastly, there needed to be more reason to travel. Again it feels like 95% of the world is background to drive though and hunt for random collectibles. I wish there were more stores to rob, more restaurants/bars to visit, and more places to rob/blowup/etc. The game was packed with content, but felt sparse.

I guess I"ll wait for DLC.

I felt the world in GTA4 had more and there were more missions (even if there wasn't, it still felt like that). There are the ? missions, but those are generally extremely short or make no sense.

I thought the story was wasted by forcing you to switch between 3 characters half stories. I'd much rather have just had it focused on Franklin (who I liked the best) and the other two guys as just side kicks (with maybe a few missions as them to help fill in some gaps).

Overall, I thought the story was incredibly stupid. The FIB stuff made so little sense.
Oh, you have to rob a bank to buy a helicopter rather than just steal ANOTHER helicopter. And the fact that you don't just kill the guys blackmailing Michael into doing this is rather stupid. The "Oh, they'll be taking a closer look at us if you kill him" makes no sense when you're robbing military convoys, government buildings, banks, and blowing up all kinds of nonsense.

There should have been a way to set up your own heists. There is no point in most of the members leveling up.
If you pick the cheap, garbage member with the hopes of leveling them up so they can be good for cheap; they just die on the mission AND you lose their cut to their family.

Overall, the game was fun, but unless the online is a lot of fun, I probably won't be picking it up again until all the DLC is out on PC. The world, especially after you do all the missions, is pretty bland.

Yea, the joke there was
I had more than enough money to buy the freaking helicopter anyway....

That is how it would be. Signs, lamp posts, and street lights have break-away bolts so they topple over when hit. Telephone poles are 1ft thick tree trunks that you hit at the strongest point (closest to the ground.) Gameplay-wise it sucks. I've messed up plenty of street races by clipping the poles.

Some of things Trevor and Michael are "forced" to do by the FIB are dumb. There are plenty of times for them to just kill the corrupt FIB guys and no one would ever know, instead they go on endless idiotic missions at the drop of a hat. It is also lame how many missions do not give any money at all. You have to get about half way through the game before you can buy much of anything.

I can't count the times I've seen some business and ran headlong into doors that don't open; just some backdrop inside to make it look like you can enter it. The lack of restaurants is the biggest obvious exclusion though; getting really tired looking for soda machines when I'm low on health (and finding 100 water/candy machines you can't buy from).

Hopefully GTA online will make up for some of the things I don't like; will be on at midnight and hopefully it will be up and running.

EDIT - and the one thing I really miss from pre-GTA 4... finding a vehicle in the middle of nowhere that started a course, like a monster truck off-road checkpoint thing.

Benches function exactly like telephone poles. Also, I've seen poles hit by cars going fast. They don't exactly stand strong and not give an inch. I've also seen poles designed to stop 4-5 ton trucks from entering an area (and trucks going 50 mph hitting them).
