It is painful in a jet (for me at least). I've flown around for like a half hour before I finally just jumped out of the jet. Helicopters kept spawning in front of any direction I was going, at any altitude.

Another problem I have is if I see a cop in the middle of nowhere, sneak up on him, and shoot him in the head with a silenced pistol, I should not get 2 stars with no witnesses. It is pretty stupid if I run over or shoot someone, the cops come to my location to look for me, but if I kill a cop it's "oh we know you killed a cop at x location and we are on our way regardless of anything you do".

The story line was awesome, but it felt really short.

I've been resisting GTA Online, but I got on last night. I hated it at first. One of the other players from that first drug fetch mission killed me after it was over :\ After respawning I found an empty cop car in the middle of the road with the lights still going. Kind of cool. I drove it around for a minute until someone killed me again.

I turned it off for awhile.

When I came back I was ready for the post-apocalyptic style anarchy. Run. Drive. Always be moving. Now I'm enjoying it. It would be nice if they had some sort of faction system so that there were some relatively safe zones. Maybe gangs? I always liked the gang aspect in GTA2.

I suck at deathmatch, have to sit super close to the tv, I lose my money, and usually loose the round. It's tough to make money online. I got on with my buddy and we spent the time trying to find missions we could do together. Yet I think we want to get a place to plan heists but every place is so expensive. Robbing stores only get you so much.

Also if you rob a place with a friend, can you split the cash?

The cheap house feels fairly affordable to me. $35k IIRC. The convenience store robberies seem like they're about $1k. Stealing cars will get you between $4k and $9k.

The real dilemma is buy the crap shack or save up for a nice place.

I do not enjoy deathmatch at this point. I might try it again down the road.

Apparently you need a big place for a heists. Heists aren't even in this update so I'm not sure. My lil bro is level 24 and he found some invite only sessions where he farm spawned some missions, did some vehicle selling glitch and he has $2 million online. I dunno how he got so much at all. I think those glitches are patched now. Apparently the higher level you get the better missions you can do. I'm not sure how you are suppose to level up in the beginning when you only have the last team standing or deathmatch to play.

Not much of a chance if you suck at those. What level do you have to be to steal cars? Are those the simeon missions ?

I find that very frustrating as well. The cops appear instantly, are unlimited and are crack shots. Just one of the many things in the game that I hate. More often than not, I just go mission to mission and really don't bother.

Another favorite is car collisions. Sometimes you can ram something going extremely fast, other things a little rock will completely stop your progress. Once I smashed into a golf cart in an SUV, was ejected and died in mid air. The golf cart appeared to stumble and drive off.
Oh, my very favorite is how they handle inclines. I have literally fallen while running from cops on what was no more than a 12" incline. Near the construction zone, which has elevators on one mission, near one of the outside walls is a tiny pile of debris and I recall walking up to it and basically just falling over. I was like wtf is this. The movement down inclines is like the guy is drunk.

I stole a jet from the airport and the chopper stopped chasing when I outran it.

Same here, as well as stealing the fighter jet from the military base. They give up by the time I get around the city.

They just didn't give up on me for some reason. I flew around for quite a long time and helicopters just kept appearing near me and spotting me.

I'm not sure what level you have to be to sell stolen cars, but I started at 7. You just steal a car and drive it to Los Santos Customs and select sell. There are price lists online, but as a general rule SUVs and coupes are good money. 4 door cars are not. You can sell a car every in game day (48 minutes).

Rockstar has announced a $500,000 "stimulus package" as a means to compensate players for the repeated outages and glitches that have plagued the rollout of GTA Online so far. Anyone who has played GTA Online at any point during the month of October is eligible. The first payout of $250,000 should happen sometime next week, with the remaining $250,000 paid out before the end of the month. All you need to do is download the latest patch and login at any point and it will automatically appear in your bank account as it's rolled out.

I had the van with
drugs in it
spawn a second one in the exact same spot as the original when I jacked it on the XBox version.

FYI: Spoiler tags are for those that have yet to complete game.

Is online play worth it? I heard most people just kill others on site. I thought hte point was team play of some sort.

Wow not much point to chasing money online anymore. With $500k I can buy the most expensive property in the game. I've got my free sports car from the social club plus the free car from the opening missions and a $100k boost to my walking around money.

Well im sure you will find a way to spend it. This will help me because I've spent a good amount of time online with my character being deleted so many times. I barely have any money so this will help trying to get a place and a garage. Plus you will need money to buy stuff for heists later

Free sports car from the social club? What's this now?

Whoa, did not realize what that was. I saw it pop up as an option in singleplayer but I thought that was just Franklin's default car.

I'm going to try not to use the F-word, because I realize that this is the software section and I'm not supposed to. But I just loaded up online for the first time, and I'm almost positive I'm glitched in some sort of loop. I won the first race, and now I'm watching screens cycle for literally the last 27 hours (note that I do not know the meaning of the word literally). I cannot do anything. That is, anything but scream. F*** F*** F*** F*** F*** F*** F*** F*** F*** F*** F*** F*** F*** F*** F*** F*** F*** F*** F*** F*** F*** F*** F*** F*** F*** F*** F*** F*** F*** F*** F*** F*** F*** F*** F*** F*** F*** F*** F*** F*** F*** F*** F*** F*** F*** F*** F*** F*** F*** F*** F*** F*** F*** F*** F*** F*** F*** F*** F*** F*** F*** F*** F*** F*** F*** F*** F*** F*** F*** F*** F*** F*** F*** F*** F*** F*** F*** F*** F*** F*** F*** F*** F*** F*** F*** F*** F*** F*** F*** F*** F*** F*** F*** F*** F*** F*** F*** F***.

I mean, honestly, this is the online mode? Win a race, get stuck watching screens tell you how great online is until you quit and reload? F*** you Rockstar. F*** you.

Oh, great, I quit online only to load back up and see that I've magically started on a mission! Yay! What the hell? This could have been handled slightly better.

OK, played online for a bit, not bad, but I have literally no idea what I'm supposed to do. I did a robbery because Lemar told me I was supposed to, and in the act of escaping, I hopped into a truck controlled by someone else who took us to safety. I was going to give him some cash from the job but he took off, so there you go. I got a decent car (the same one Franklin has in single player), got my insurance and tracker, and promptly quit. It's interesting, but confusing. I wanted to launch a mission with some other people, but I could hear everyone talking, including one guy who had his mic stuck on and who occasionally said "oooh.... wait, which runway?" followed by several minutes of heavy breathing. I decided I couldn't compete with that and got intimidated, so I left.

So, yeah, GTA Online? Not bad. Not great. Ultimately, I'm just confused.

It's undeniably obvious at this point that online was not read on launch day, and that alone is the reason it was delayed. I think the review site all should be held to task over giving the game grades like 10/10 when in fact multiplayer wasn't there and, when it finally was released, doesn't even work.

I just did the vice assassination mission (ended up playing today while waiting for game to sell) and 25% is most I could get. I think perhaps a recent patch nixed the 50% prior peopel were getting.

So how is the online portion of this game? I just beat the campaign but haven't done online yet. I'm thinking I'll sell it while it's still worth something though.

It's ok now, well I say ok because it's playable. Making money is hard, you get charged 100 bucks to enable passive mode so others can't gun you down. But I swear sometimes I've been killed while in passive mode. They will be offering up to 500k in game money soon so that should not be an issue. You constantly need money for this game to progress online. Soon you will need a place for heists, and to purchase equipment. I find playing with randoms hard because usually most people leave if you random invite or they screw around. You need a set of friends to play online if you want to get things done.

If you want to sell it I would do it now while you can. If you get a ps4 you will have no use for it. I also need to finish the single player but once the new system is out I won't have room for two systems on one tv so the ps3 will be put away. Im on the fence about selling it because I'm enjoying the game a lot, just sucks it won't get played again once I make the transition.

I experienced the same thing after the opening missions. These are the things I like to do:

Steal cars to sell to Los Santos Customs. SUVs are typically the best money.

Rob convenience stores. If I don't know what else to do this is fun.

The random missions that pop up. They're generally either steal a car or steal some drugs from drug dealers. In easy mode they're solo-able, but they're straight forward enough that randoms generally save you some time.

Random acts of senseless violence and casual mayhem.

There are deathmatches and races and hobbies and other stuff, but the above list is what I've been enjoying.

Never played this one yet, just curious how much depth there is to doing side stuff and activities, like racing or golf for example, do they feel shallow, tacked on like in previous GTA's or do they compare to full games in themselves.
