gta3 speed fix

For those of you who are having problems with grand theft auto 3, you might want to try the patch from here:

It seems to help, but it's still not as snappy as I would like. I'm hoping for a patch from rockstar since it seems there is substantial room for improvement. I'm surpised they didn't give the pc version more graphics/detail options than they did. This is the first game i've played that was too much for my geforce2 and I don't want to upgrade yet.

WELL, it IS supposed to have better texturing throughout.

GTA3's prgraming sucks major ass. I've gotten it to run half way decent, but no where near what it really should run at. It should run smooth as pie at almost any res considering the simplistic textures that are used.

Yeah, I have to run it at 800x600 to get really good frame rates. Since the game concept is so good, I don't mind it that much. Guess I need to get me one of those Matrox Parhelia 256M monsters to power this game up to 60fps.
