GTX 570 Broken time for upgrade?

My GTX 570 begins to pix-elate within 10 minutes of booting up my computer, and if I run a game it just crashes the moment everything loads. I tried unplugging everything and reinstalling drivers but nothing works. If I plug my monitor into the on-board GPU everything runs fine. That being said I plan on upgrading my PC sometime next year so I just want a card that will do for now under $200 if possible.

I have no experience with Radeon but I see a lot of people talking about the R9 270x/280. I mainly play Dota 2 and use a lot of Photoshop/Lightroom for photography but I also do plan on playing some new games coming out this year but not much. Given my budget (less than $200) and uses what card would compliment my build?

What do you think of this card? I'm open to any other suggestions can be Nvidia too, just whatever works.

On a budget under $200 I'd look for specials on the R9 280 or 760GTX.

R9 280 for $199 after rebate

The R9 280 is faster than the 270x, gives ya 3gb VRAM and should benefit well if you decide to overclock. The linked card boosts to 960mhz on the core which is good if you don't overclock. The 280 is faster than the 760.

If going lower than the 280 or 760 then just skip the 270x and get a 270 and OC the 270.

I've never heard of Power Color, I saw they had an even better deal yesterday but now it's gone. I hear Sapphire is the EVGA for Radeon, is this not correct?

Because I've had so many problems with graphic cards over the years I want to go with reliable companies with good warranty + customer service if possible. Also would my Corsair TX650 be able to handle these newer GPU's without sweat?

I'm not very keen on rebates, would you still say this is a good deal? I'd prefer buying something that is discounted right away.

Even at $230 a 280 is a very solid choice, and imo the best choice, compared to the other options in the $175-$250 range.

I've been most happy with EVGA of any GPU purchase, but Sapphire and Asus are very very close. I'm speaking with regard to quality and life of cards, I've never had to deal with RMAs yet. A lot of it comes down to the exact model, some sapphires are better than others and this goes for all the vendors.

The power color I linked is IMO more than adequate, particularly given you won't be overclocking. But given your concerns I'd dig a bit deeper on exact models and companies customer support reputations. You might be happier with a more beefy cooler and model of the 280. The EVGA 760s are all fine and you get a copy of WDs if going that route.

Hopefully I won't regret my purchase now that I see everyone recommending the R9 280. Anyhow, I plan on building a new PC sometime next year when all the new hardware is released.

It's a great card for that type of usage, and that's a good deal on a 270x.

I've used a few 270s, I overclocked them. I was left a bit wanting in newer games like farcry 3 and some others with high details. But I'm generally looking for 60fps and max details.
