For what it's worth, I booted up Batman: Arkham City on my 680 yesterday and it was stuttering like crazy, 4 fps even at the menu screen and it crashed trying to load the benchmark demo. If I alt-tabbed out, I could see the FPS shoot up in Batman, but when I alt-tabbed back in, slideshow. Turns out it was because I loaded FRAPS as I was booting the game up. I exited everything, restarted FRAPS, restarted Arkham City, and it all ran beautifully. Sometimes those things are really finicky.
That wouldn't explain why you're having FPS problems across the board though... Start with a complete reinstall of Windows; that's the only way you'll be sure it's a hardware issue and not a software issue.
DUDE, why don't you just re-install windows? I'm telling you, that an old install with legacy drivers/registry stuff CAN cause your performance to fluctuate in some cases by a large margin.
Instead of benchmarking/comparing your games for days and wondering why your framerates aren't as high as they should be, just bite the bullet and reinstall, you can 100% eliminate software issues as the culprit.
Yeah i know, im dragging it out.
The reason for that though is that im going to order an SSD disk tomorrow and then install the fresh windows on that one.
i think u solve it the problem is in u GTX 680 cuz no way 580 oc is better then u r card i think u must resend it frome wher u get it and replace it with new one .Ok so now i tested this 680 in my girlfriends new computer.
System specs:
HDD: WESTERN DIGITAL CAVIAR GREEN 1.5TB SATA/600 64MB
CPU: INTEL CORE I7 2600 3.40GHZ 8MB S-1155
MEM: CORSAIR 16GB DDR3 XMS3 INTEL I5/I7 PC10666 1333MHZ (4X4GB)
MB: ASUS MAXIMUS IV GENE-Z/GEN3 Z68 S-1155 M-ATX
She got 9144 3dmarks11, I guess thats ok.
But, she got less FPS in borderlands with 680 than her gigabyte OC 580.
Also, she got lower fps in Fallout New vegas with 680 than with her gigabyte OC 580.
Altho in BF3, her fps skyrocketed, when i played BF3 it fealt like i was using a gtx680, just like with my rig. But what is up with the other games? Why cant this 680 handle games that are alittle older than BF3?
please run that through the translator one more time...i think u solve it the problem is in u GTX 680 cuz no way 580 oc is better then u r card i think u must resend it frome wher u get it and replace it with new one .
Pretty simple RMA the cardplease run that through the translator one more time...
Buy a new card and sell the rma'ed card in that case
With everything maxed/on except for AA OFF and with PhysX OFF, what do you get after a benchmark run in BM Arkham city, minimum, highest and avarage?
And at what resolution was that?
you get 121 fps on DX11 extreme settings?Did a couple different benchmark tests. I did two passes just in case there were hiccups loading the different sections (ends up pretty close regardless). All done at 1920x1200, everything maxed unless noted:
No AA, No PhysX (Pass 1, Pass 2):
Min: 15, 40
Max: 156, 155
Avg: 121, 121
FXAA High, PhysX Normal (Pass 1, Pass 2):
Min: 24, 33
Max: 115, 114
Avg: 73, 73
The first pass in each set did have some sections where loading artificially lowered the minimum FPS (15 and 24 respectively); the 40 and 33 are more indicative of true minimum FPS to expect in each case. The highs and averages were basically identical regardless of loading.
you get 121 fps on DX11 extreme settings?
ok just checking. may people say max settings for Batman but dont really run on extreme or even in DX11 sometimes. With AA and PhysX disabled, yes.

That could just be the difference between a 3.0 GHz i7 and a 4.3 GHz i5. I don't know how well the game scales with CPU clockspeed, but 20 FPS from a 1.3 GHz increase seems possible.I only get avarage 99 fps at thouse settings, even lower resolution aswell.
1920x1080 that is.
no not at all with those settings in that game. your cpu will probably not even make more than a few fps difference if that with those settings. That could just be the difference between a 3.0 GHz i7 and a 4.3 GHz i5. Well then something is going on with his rig.no not at all with those settings in that game. your cpu will probably not even make more than a few fps difference if that with those settings.

Larrelarre, did you do a fresh install of Win7? What drivers are you running?
I am using beta drivers.
And no i dont have a fresh win 7 install, tomorrow my SSD disk will arrive so then i will install a fresh one.
