Well, seeing as hardware canucks had a much different take on heat/noise/power it seems like Nvidia may be heavily voltage binning these parts. These cards seem like a bit of a gamble, in that you could end up with something that is almost good enough to be a 470, or something that needs more voltage than a 480 and is as loud as a 295.
Other thing weird about the hardware canucs review was their overclocking tests. They were able to get a MASSIVE overclock, but performance barely moved at all. Kind of reminds me of a certain overclocking comparison ABT did awhile back, but this time reveresed! My guess is that both times too much voltage was applied causing the cards to go into halt states and lose a lot of performance. What do you think Apoppin?
And yes, GTX 470 looks significantly better now. You're basically almost getting an HD 5870, but with more noise/heat and cheaper.
