Guitars Players: Whats Your Setup?

Takamine G330s acoustic - non-electric, but I have a Dean Markley pickup that sits in the sound hole,
Zoom 504 pedal, no amp
borrowing a cheap strat copy for now, plan on getting an electric soon.

How do you guys like your squier strats? I've been looking at a strat or maybe a Les Paul, but I don't know whcih type of electric to get. Anyone know any good books that'll teach someone how to play electric guitar, specifically for someone who has only played on an acoustic? Thanks.

Right now my only guitar is a Jackson PS-4 Performer that I picked up new for about $170 while I was stationed in Korea.

My first guitar was a Squire Strat back in the mid '80's. I had a nice Rose Wine Fender Strat, Les Paul Custom, and Ibanez RG550. The Ibanez was definitely my favorite guitar of all...I'm considering something along the lines of the RG570 now or maybe an ESP with the active EMG pickups.

mostly for sake of ease -
Guitar Rig - Plain black Les Paul Special ('94), yep w/real P90's, Vox Wah, Boss Limiter Pedal & a Marshall JCM-900 50watter Full Stack, but side by side. sometimes just 1 cab (i'm lazy, and I don't own the 2nd cab).
Bass Rig- '93 Mexican Jazz Bass, old prototype RAT Pedal, Boss Delay & Flanger (in one unit) Some old Futuresound 2 Channel wierd Instrument Pre, w/ a Crown Ma-2400, Birdged Mono (yes that's right, 2k of power, helps to work for a touring class sound company) and a Peavey 2x10 Cab, and an old Sun single 15" Front loaded.
Sometimes- (when I feel like it) this stuff gets added-
The guitar rig above, but in stereo, w/ an 80's re-issue Fender Dual Showman head (weighs like 100lbs though, like it for it's Vibrato ).
The bass rig above, but w/the marshall half-stack, just for the distortion sound on an A/B/Y box! I love bass distortion!
Nothin' too fancy, just a 2 good ol' rock & roll rigs! LOUD and LOUDER!! hehe...

I've got the following other axes that collect dust (if anyone asks)- a '73 Tele (w/a Tokai Neck), a Gibson Sonex XR-1 (Old 70's Japanese Gibson) a cheap Gibson 'The Paul' it plays like $h!t, but sounds AWESOME!! and an ol' junky 70's P-Bass. As well as other various Junky Acoustic Guitars that get beat around!

Been playing, on and off, for 8 years.

My gear list:

-Epiphone les paul cherry burst. Got ran over by a mercedes, but only cosmetic damages.
-Peavey Predator, red.
-Crate gx15 1x8 15 watt practice amp.
-Carvin 2x12 150 watt solid state amp.
-Boss dx2 distortion, Dunlop crybaby, Jekyll and Hyde volume pedal. Probably 2 ts-9s one of these days.
-Dunlop orange tortex picks, or Fender mediums.

That, is it.

I want new gear, but I really don't have the money. If I did have money though, I'd buy a fender with a nice neck and great finish, then gut it for better hardware.
