<< this is madness. is everyone doing what bush said?! spend till you're broke? but this is just for best of interest for the merchants not us. some of us already bought more then what we need, I dont see why I would want to spend anymore anytime soon. patience is virtue. you can get it for much less later and still have plenty of $$$ saved from today. dimm use to be 40 bucks per meg, today it is as little as 16megs per bucks. same with harddrive where 1mb = a dollar, today 40-50 megs per dollar. >>
What the hell does this mean? The economy is always best when people are spending money not saving it. What good is money if we dont spend it? Everything is cheap once it is obsolite. If everyone went by what you attempt to say then the price on everything would never go down. The reason we evolve is because we demand the better mouse trap. If we all waited for the price of the mousetrap to come down, nobody would want to build a better one because they know no one will buy it. We may only be using typerwriters because we are waiting for the price of that new univac machine to come down, remembering that your typerwriter cost half less than what it did when it wasintroduced to the market 20 years ago. I Remeber when the Hd for my c64 was 20 megs and cost me over $250. Should I wait untill today to use that 20 meg hard drive?
Everyone benefits from people spending money. Someone has to make the product, pack, and ship it. Companies do make alot of money, but a thriving company is less likely to lay people off. Everyone talks about how greedy our US companies are, but the greediest ones seem to have the highest payroll. Then what , pay the principals less money? Who would want the stress of leading these companies into efficiency and profitability. Without greed their would be a lot of indians, but no chiefs. If we all stop spending money today we would all eventually be broke because we wouldn't have jobs because no one would buy the product the company we work for produces, therefore rendering our jobs obsolete.
I am not spending more or less money than I was before presisdent Bush's request. I am spending enough to sustain the lifestyle that most of us enjoy.
I hope this was confusing as your post, because for someone trying to preach that was the sloppiest attempt I have yet to see.
