I got one of their refurbished CF 125 mb cards a few months ago. The card didn't work at all and I had to return it. Keep that in mind.

this is madness. is everyone doing what bush said?! spend till you're broke? but this is just for best of interest for the merchants not us. some of us already bought more then what we need, I dont see why I would want to spend anymore anytime soon. patience is virtue. you can get it for much less later and still have plenty of $$$ saved from today. dimm use to be 40 bucks per meg, today it is as little as 16megs per bucks. same with harddrive where 1mb = a dollar, today 40-50 megs per dollar.

Before i say anything I'm not telling anyone not to buy from newegg, this is just my experience with the refurbs. 10 out of 15 refurb items i have bought didnt work(DOA). Some had obviouse visual problems(burnt cap and traces for example). Out of the 10 sent back(at my expense) 3 came back non-working again, 1 was no longer being carried and 1 was lost there at newegg.

I question the *refurb* proccess.

what did you purchase, CAK? It's horrible to know that... but I have good experience with newegg refurb mobo and video cards. I guess I'll return the Mr.flash CF crap though. I have not tested it yet, but I heard lots of bad reviews to Mr.flash brand...

Yeah, not much luck for me Others have never had a problem though.

1 hard drive and the rest were vid cards, motherboards and CD-rom/RW's.

I went to refurb video cards but there doesn't seem to be an option to had some cards to my card in the ATI section. Does that mean that they're sold out or what?

What the hell does this mean? The economy is always best when people are spending money not saving it. What good is money if we dont spend it? Everything is cheap once it is obsolite. If everyone went by what you attempt to say then the price on everything would never go down. The reason we evolve is because we demand the better mouse trap. If we all waited for the price of the mousetrap to come down, nobody would want to build a better one because they know no one will buy it. We may only be using typerwriters because we are waiting for the price of that new univac machine to come down, remembering that your typerwriter cost half less than what it did when it wasintroduced to the market 20 years ago. I Remeber when the Hd for my c64 was 20 megs and cost me over $250. Should I wait untill today to use that 20 meg hard drive?

Everyone benefits from people spending money. Someone has to make the product, pack, and ship it. Companies do make alot of money, but a thriving company is less likely to lay people off. Everyone talks about how greedy our US companies are, but the greediest ones seem to have the highest payroll. Then what , pay the principals less money? Who would want the stress of leading these companies into efficiency and profitability. Without greed their would be a lot of indians, but no chiefs. If we all stop spending money today we would all eventually be broke because we wouldn't have jobs because no one would buy the product the company we work for produces, therefore rendering our jobs obsolete.

I am not spending more or less money than I was before presisdent Bush's request. I am spending enough to sustain the lifestyle that most of us enjoy.

I hope this was confusing as your post, because for someone trying to preach that was the sloppiest attempt I have yet to see.

I bought a refurbished PIONEER 116 DVD ROM ($39) from newegg and it has worked perfectly. I was very satisfied with their service, products AND pricing. I would have second doubts about purchasing a very expensive item but my experience with them has been very good.

Absolutely Until i see a sticker on it saying refurb my MFG ain't buying another POS from neweggs refurb dept. because it's not one.. It ends up costing the same for an item as i would pay new by the time i pay shipping both ways 4 times.

Based on my experience with Newegg's refurbs, it's hit or miss. Newegg's refurbs are typically returns that they are reselling and they don't really refurbish/fix or even test the item. They just stock pile the returns and when they have enough they post them in their refurb section.

lol I just bought some nice DDR mobos made by DFI last week for $45 each with free shipping. Has OC'ing options too (via dipswitches but hey easier then always having to clear cmos and reinput my ram settings). So far I tested them both and they both work. Great deal.
