Enjoy hell.

unless you are constantly breeding those cats you suck too. did you mutilate its genitals for your benifit(spaying/neutering)? did you? thats selfish man, imagine me slicing ur nuts out man. u are a cruel ass b*tch as is anyone that does such stuff. you are like a freakin nazi. i've seen how much pleasure cats get out of sex, banging other cats is just natural. how can u deprive your cat of such natural pleasure? if you dont setup conjugal visits for your cat you don't deserve to own one.

Ouch. Pretty harsh, dude.

My fiance and I have two cats also, and while they haven't been declawed, there has been talk about having it done. We just moved to a newer, nicer apartment, and they are already taking a toll on the new carpet. Even so, I don't think we'll have it done anytime soon... maybe not until we own a place. They have done some damage to our couch though, too.

Edit: Wow, I just looked at that pic and yor apartment looks just like ours... carpet, blinds, even a similar cat bed. Pretty odd.

teach them to use a scratching pole. Someone else in this thread had no problem with doing it.

Or like i said, clip their claws if you are that worried about it.

Neutering them is just like a vasectomy/hysterectomy. Wow, we do that to humans too, look at that! It's also neccessary, and indeed legally required in many places.

Declawing is not necessary, and i note we don't usually rip out human's nails do we? It should be perfectly easy to train them to using a scratching pad/pole, rather than furniture...

Stop trolling kiddo.

My folks do, and have done for most of my life. Your point? We're getting a kitten in a few months time if that is relevant too?

oh cats also naturally love to torture prey animals they catch. any humane owner would provide mice and other critters for torture play. and keep those claws around to make it oh the more pleasurable for the kitty, oh they love batting em around and stabbing a claw in here and there. anyone that doesn't do this is a freakin nazi that should be taken out and beaten to a pulp for depriving their pet of this basic joy.

for those of u that don't provide... burn in hell!

As long as they are indoor cats I don't see anything wrong with declawing. Front paws only. Both of our cats have their front claws removed. This was suggested by the vet.

I won't have mine declawed but if it comes down to a choice between declawing or the cat ending up dumped on the street or in the pound where it will likely end up dead in a week then declawing is the more humane option IMHO.

ugh, humans are not cats ok. we don't use freakin scratching poles so don't even pretend its a direct comparison. the simple fact is you draw the line wher eyou think mutilation is convenient for your selfish amusement and rather arbitrarily at that. the cat doesn't give its consent for you to rip out its balls. you are a freakin slave master, u sicken me.

the simple fact is that the cats i've seen declawed seem no different at all. they don't limp, they aren't crippled as you would imply, they go around like any other cat, just without the ability to scratch people and things.. so its not the big thing you make it to be.

funny u bring up hysterectomys. how bout u get ur wife one. its no big thang u know.. like spaying or neutering.

call me a troll all u like for pointing out the basic absurdity of your position. demonizing other people for something you do yourself for rather arbitrary and inconsistent reasons.

when you put it like that i'd go with declawing

But i'll always advocate clipping them if it bothers you that much, or simply training them to use the scratching pad.

I'm not going to say any more on the matter, i've made my views & reasons clear, i'm certainly not going to be persuaded otherwise, and i'm not going to waste both my time & anyone elses ( a certain childish troll springs to mind ) trying to persuade people otherwise

We use those soft paws claw caps on the younger more destructive cat. The old one seems content to sit around all day and occasionally claw up the cheap walmart rug in the living room.

I really do suggest doing with the Laser Declawing if you do, do it.

Much less pain and recovery time for them, it's worth the extra $50.

Declawing has been likened to chopping off your fingers at the first joint.

Some cats don't react well, others are ok.

I agree. Being an animal lover myself, I see nothing really wrong about declawing cats provided:
A: It is done painlessly
B: You will ensure their entire lives will be spent indoors. (It would be better to have them put to sleep than turn them out!)

Indoor cats really don't need their front claws, however, without them in the wild, they have practically no defense.

Well I was against it, but when in a relationship such as an engagement, sometimes compromises have to be made.

My wife and I have owned cats for close to 20 years, you can always train any cat to use a scratching post. Imagine losing your finger from the first knuckle up, that's what you did. I'd never do it, I'd never condone it, it's cruel, but it's already done and it can't be undone. They even have little caps you can put on your cats claws to prevent scratching. Between that and clipping them, having scratching posts, it's never really a problem.
Hope you don't do it again.
