Half-Life 2 for $30

I've been searching for a cheap website to get Half-Life 2 for a while.. I came across this webiste that sells Half-Life 2 and some other really cheap games...Now.. I was reading ad it says that they e-mail your *New* Steam ID and password that has Half-Life 2, CS source, and Half-Life Deathmacth....Also they say that they do not sell steam accounts, and they take the CD keys fresh out of the box..You guys can read more about this I just wanted to get your word on this to see if it is a deal or not.

Try out the search function here and at fatwallet. Some very recent threads about HL2 deals.

I don't like the deals where they set up an account for you, but never send you the physical disks and your printed serial number key. If you have the printed retail key you can transfer the HL2 account at no charge, or get the key reset if someone else is using it. If you are on dial-up it is almost impossible to download all the game content from scratch.

Just got HL2 retail (open box store return) from ConsumerDepot.com for $20 shipped (add something else to the cart). It came with a good key, but at least one cd was defective (no problem if you have a friend with the disks). There have been legit full new retail box deals around $30 + shipping. Ebay has some buy-it-now sellers that mail disks & keys from Thailand for about $24 shipped.

I buy my games from thailand, games which are legal for sale in the US cost $25 retail in thailand, so you can get them around $23 *for versions which are legal for sale in the US*
For sale in thailand only sell for about $15 each. (which are illegal to sell here)
So when you see people selling "Half-Life 2 from thailand shipped for $24" it is being illegally imported. And the box/install and instructions all in Thai language

Most of the sellings on ebay selling HL2 are scammers, i get countless emails a week saying "i bought from a seller on ebay but i cant register my key can you help me?"

Be very carefully for anything under $25 because it is probably not legal to sell it in the US

1-GoGamer and Newegg have had HL2 specials, full retail boxed imports $29.99 + ~6 shipping. Search the old deal threads here.

2-ConsumerDepot.com 14.99, go look for yourself. Read the threads here and @ fatwallet. I got a good original printed key, in a US retail box, with a bad install cd, for under $20 shipped.

3-Ebay. I looked at the buy-it-now sellers. Most, like you, just sell retail keys (bad idea for buyers!). A few ship authentic keys and original discs. The 99% feedback seller I looked at ships cd's from Thailand ($15 + $9 insured shipping).

I just visited your web page. You forget to mention on your web page that you are selling an import key. No mention of sending the original disks or printed key either!

As for the $15+$9 shipping there is a difference between importing legally and illegally.

How do you *test* it? You cannot test the key therefore they are lying....

The steam accounts/keys are 100% legit. They are imported, however to save the hastle of mailing CD with a foreign language for the install half way around the world, I just get the cdkeys out of the boxes and register them with steam allowing you to download and play the game. Newegg sells the exact same imported copies for $39.99

Good! You now say you mail the original HL2 box and contents from asia. But that information is not printed on the item page, it is just one of many links in the frame.

You say customers must read that "conditions of use" link before ordering? Someone else will have to try. You aren't getting my business.

You guys are pretty harsh. I bought HL2 from Rareglitch since it was cheap and could get it right away. I suppose theres risk involved, but it worked out fine for me.

I guess if Valve comes to my door demanding to see a box and cd I may be screwed... but I think thats a risk I'm willing to take.

The website says: "Login with the username and password we email to you". I assume the reason why they create your Steam account for you is because you don't get the CD key? It also says: "Users should understand that RareglitchGames.com does not sell Steam Accounts"... so do you actually get the CD key at all or do you just get a login for a Steam account? Because if you don't get the CDs or even the CD key, then isn't that essentially just selling a Steam account? If you do eventually get the retail package this would be legit...

Anyways they send you the cd-key... I was happy with the transaction for any that care.

Too bad dave111223 had to act like an ass about it, the site isn't bad or anything.

Its not a scam.. well.. let me rephrase that, it worked out for me just fine, but I can't make any guarantees based off of my one experience.

Doesnt valve de-activate cd keys for running cheats? Yeah, I'd be pretty worried that if this site goes down, the copies they sold are going with it... valve is pretty keen on making every cent they can.
