HALF LIFE MOVIE?

Hey I was talking to some peeps today and they said that Half Life was going to be a movie next year. Is this story true?
I hope its true.

I hope not, Half-Life was a great game but video game to movie transition is always a bad idea

I will say final fantasy sucked bad. BUT there is always hope that a good game will be made into a good movie.

Yes it's being done. There are a ton of others most people aren't aware of
Diablo
Max Payne
Duke Nukem (they were trying to get Arnold to play Duke lol)
and some others. I can't remember offhand but there was a list of about 8 or 10 in the last PC gamer.

I think with how the gaming industry has grown ENORMUSLY over the past few years more and more movies will be made and EVENTUALLY one of those will be REALLY good. But until then all I can do is support current movies (Resient Evil) just to support the idea of gamer cinema and wait for that ONE good movie that will eventually come. I think Max Payne has a lot of potential and I heard Tribes might be a TV show. A good RPG would also work if it was done right.

The game "American McGee's Alice" is currently in pre-production as a movie. It is being directed by Wes Craven. I think this should be cool. I loved the atmosphere of Alice, and the story was good enough to make into a movie, since it's basically a dark twist on the original Alice in Wonderland.

I had read a report about Earthsiege and Starsiege where going to be made into movies but nothing has come of it. Anyone elce play Earthsiege or Starsiege (im not talking about tribes)(1 or 2)
So can anyone tell me where i can get this game mag or if there is a web site i can go to so i can find more stuff on the movies?

I'd like to see it. Of course I would have to buy HL and play it before I saw the movie.

I heard rumors of the game Descent being made into a movie, and apparently there was serious consideration of the prospect, but then it was ditched. Now that would have been cool

Final Fantasy - The Spirits Within wasn't such a bad movie. It was pretty good, except for the ending, which instantly ruined the whole movie.
