Hard Drive problem...

So I got a new computer (AMD 64 3400) and have 2 hard drives, 120gig and a 250 gig.

My main problem is that the 250 gig is not being seen but as a 130 gig. I have XP pro, with all updates,. The drive is a Maxtor 250 : MaXLine Plus II - ATA/133 interface -

So my question is since I have an ASUS K8V deluxe MB with latest bios and latest updates of XP, what do I need to do to get this drive seen properly?

Are the drives pata or sata? Give us so more info about your setup and maybe we can help.

Is the drive partitioned to the full amount or just to around half the drive?

The drive in question is PATA, as he notes it is an ATA/133 drive. Make sure you have done everything that is listed in this Knowledge Base article. Also, does the BIOS see the full size of the drive?

As for the Sata/PATA thing..it was answered

Partioning...never bothered to since It only saw half the drive, why waste my time when I'd have to reformat it once it is seen properly

As for the info file, doing it as we speak...

How do I check if the BIOS is seeing the whole drive? I know it lists what the firmwrae ID says...the 250gig MAxtor info, but I'm not sure if that's what you mean or not. What would I need to do to check it?
