hard drive problems

I have a 40 gig hard drive set up as my primary slave and a 80 gig as the master... now I recently changed my slave from a 12 gig to this 40 gig but now it dose not recognize the drive in the my computer folder (doesn?t show up on my computer) but the BIOS recognizes that its hooked up to my computer.

Sounds like you may need to get a controller card.

Is the drive partitioned and formatted? See if you find it in Disk Management: right click My Computer > click Manage > Storage > Disk Management
