Hard Drive whines

My HD makes a loud whining noise, any way to fix this or should I just get a new one?

Hmm that's weird, it's about 14.1 gb by Maxtor, got it with my system about 2 years ago.

I don't know the speed but when I checked properties under device manager it says "Maxtor 5 SCSI Disk Drive"

I always thought it was an IDE drive...maybe I should take a look on the label and see what it says.
