In an interview on CNBC, Hardee's chief executive Andrew Puzder was unapologetic, saying the company's latest sandwich is "not a burger for tree-huggers."

"This is a burger for young hungry guys who want a really big, delicious, juicy, decadent burger," he said. "I hope our competitors keep promoting those healthy products, and we will keep promoting our big, juicy delicious burgers."

These are also for those who have a family history of heart problems and are suicidal. Death never tasted so good.

All this disgust torwards fast food and calls for censosrhip SUCK

If I want to eat a big fatty burger with a 64 ounce Coke and 3 pounds of extra geasy fries then thats my right.

I for one was upset when McDonalds got rid of the supersize option. I ALWAYS supersized, what did I do to deserve my extra fries and coke to be taken away? Why do I have to suffer because americans are out of shape? What happened to the right to choose?

I eat whatever i want, whenever I want, I take responsibility for my own health, I run 10 miles a day and lift weights too. Every calorie I intake either gets burned, turned into muscle, or ends up in the toilet. my body fat is only 3% or less, why do I always have to suffer for the fatties?!?

There is nothing wrong with the eating that Burger, every once in a while it?s fun to go out and splurge. People just need to realize you can?t go out and eat this kind of stuff every night and expect not to suffer the consequences. Personally If I wanted a burger in that size range I would prefer to make it by myself on the grill with some good quality meat on a good Kaiser bun with some Swiss cheese bacon.

To add another Homer quote, "In this house we butter our bacon boy"

Edit: Grammar and clarity
Let people eat what they want.

I'm glad they are showing defiance to this stupid blame-them attitude.

If I want a 10 bazillion calorie burger with enough trans-fat to kill a Carnie Wilson then they should be allowed to sell it, and I to buy it.

All about MODERATION...but hey, when personal responsibility goes out the window thats not fun at all!

Fine, just don't sue Hardees and don't burden my HMO with your obesity-related illnesses.

Oops, too late.

Even though consumers are increasingly opting for healthier foods these days, some people still prefer good ol' fatty standards such as burgers, cheese, french fries, and ice cream. And as long as customers want those things, some eateries will attempt to attract their business by offering larger portions of them than the next guy.

One extreme in the big burger business is represented by Denny's Beer Barrel Pub in Clearfield, Pennsylvania, which offers several varieties of "large" for the extreme burger enthusiast: a 2-pound Challenger, a 3-pound Baby Boy, and, as displayed in the pictures shown above, a 6-pound Ye Olde 96er (so named because it contains 96 ounces of meat).

As advertised on the pub's web site, a 96er sells for $23.95 and includes the following fixings and condiments:

* Two whole tomatoes

* A half-head of lettuce

* 12 slices of American cheese

* A full cup of peppers

* Two entire onions

* A river of mayonnaise, ketchup, and mustard

Denny's (not to be confused with the national chain restaurants of the same name) offers prizes for customers who can completely consume one of their big burgers within a designated time period: a T-shirt, certificate, and 50% discount for anyone who finishes a Challenger (2 lb. burger) within an hour; a T-shirt, certificate, and 100% discount for anyone who can polish off a Baby Boy (3 lb. burger) in 90 minutes or less; and something special for anyone who manages the unthinkable and puts away a whole 96er (6 lb. burger) in under three hours. (That "something special" has yet to be awarded, as no one has so far successfully accomplished the feat.)

Then Homer takes the driver's place and discovers the nation...

Yes, please let us live in a nanny state that regulates what I can eat. :roll:

no kidding.

On the news last night they said some states (I didn't catch which ones) are going to ban fast food advertisements during prime time television.

Sure it's censorship, but it's for your own good!

great, another nanny-stater.

YUM! But I'd have to eat about 1400 low-cal/low-fat meals to counterbalance that thing.

I agree that this is a horrible idea for anyone that has an ounce of self control but this burger to the right person actually could be considered a health risk... Not to mention the amount of nasty ass crap they put in the meat to preserve it and have a consistant taste is enough to make me puke just smelling the thing.

I dont think I currently even eat 1400 cals in a day to be honest...
