Nice. I think Kyle does very good reviews and he seems to be straight up about things. The only site I trust more than HOCP is AT! I really hope AT does a review of the KR7A-R.
The only real issue he had was with the missing solder on the CMOS battery pin. He grabbed this board from the Abit guys at COMDEX and he thought it was a preproduction board. He even stated that when he got his hands on a shipping sample, there were no defects. I'm not worried about that.
As far as the memory instability issue; I won't be using more than 3 unregistered DIMMs in my board and if I decide/need to do so, I'll buy registered RAM like I'm supposed to.
The board was stable and did everything well. Especially the onboard RAID. Everyone knows I'm a Big Fan of IDE raid. Heh, it works for me!
By late December everyone should have this board at a reasonable price. By early January, I'll have my new KR7AR-based, Athlon XP rig up and running! Bye-bye 100FSB!
