Have I Been Ripped Off ?

Hello forum,

I hope I'm not acting prematurely but I ordered Mandrake 9.2 (3 CD set) on December 10 from http://www.linuxisoimages.com/ and not only have I not received it yet but 1) all of their links are broken and 2) I get no response when I email or call them on the telephone them to inquire about my order.

Maybe they are out of stock and I only pre-ordered it OR maybe it is being shipped from a foreign country which takes more time. I would love to download the ISO files but I only have a 56 K modem and my ISP cuts me off after 4 hours of online time even if I am downloading something.

How long must I wait until I believe I have been ripped off?

Well I hope not.

Did they tell you how long it would take.. Like 2-3 weeks or something like that?

10 days seems to be a bit long for as something a small as 3 CD's, but I don't know.

Amazon has made me wait up to 3 months for them to get a book to me, which sucks.


However if you can't ever get a hold of anybody or anything and they are taking longer then they said it would be, I probably wouldn't go back there.

Anyways, after 10 days you'd probably already have it downloaded, even over a 14.4 buad modem!


If you are getting cut off from your downloads, goto tucows.com and pick your self up one of those download managers. Ftp sites (maybe http sites too with a good manager) allows you to resume downloads, even if they get distrupted.

Their are a few good free ones to choose from. I'd just start the download before going to bed or sitting down to watch TV or something.

Most likely it was shipped by media mail. USPS is known to take a month to deliver this mail class when it overlaps into the christmas delivery season.
