HD HTPC AGP and CPU

Going to upgrade so I can watch 720p content smoothly.

currently have the PCChips P23G and a celeron 3.2. dont recall if its 1gb or 512mb of ddr2 ram and too lazy to look so lets assume 512mb.


would getting a hd 2600 pro and an E4500 do the trick for watching HD?

I can playback x264 720p on an AthlonXP 2500+ @ 1.8ghz and Radeon 9700Pro. I'd think that an e4500 and HD2600 pro could handle it with no problems.

The 2600 Pro alone would do the trick with the proper decoder.

I read somewhere that if you have the 2600pro, you can get away with a really slow cpu. The guy on the site I read, underclocked his cpu down to somewhere around 1ghz and It still worked. RMV
