Headlight keep dying

Reading through the reviews sorted by most recent...I walked away with a very different impression

While I admit this isn’t a complete test, halogen light (right side) seems to have more glare.



They are or at least were aimed to be level.

Hella makes proper quality bulbs. It actually lasted three years on my mom’s Toyota Matrix before I retired it to another car and got replacements under warranty. This new bulb has been on for a year and the car is driven a lot. The Toyota Matrix uses a 9006 bulb.

Halogens spread out more. LEDs are more focused and thus for drivers driving on the opposite side of the road or if someone's mirror manages to reflect the headlamp light behind them into their eyes(a truck with LEDs did do that while I was driving my mom's Matrix), they can be a very piercing light at a particular angle.

I have no idea what you are talking about. It is very clearly evident in this picture that the left light is more glaring, due to both the colder color temperature, and more scatter towards the left which is one of the two major problems, blinding oncoming vehicles.

Your next picture just looks like misaimed headlights, except it also proves my point, that you can clearly see the left light is projecting wide into the other lane instead of straight ahead, making LED headlights even worse, not less, glaring.

With a brighter, colder bulb, it needs to be aimed even more towards the right than stock, and more downward, while yours is more to the left than stock.

Yes, it's the driver's side that is casting a higher % of light into the opposing lane in the picture instead of straight ahead.

Does anyone know a good HID kit for a RAM 1500? I struggled with Innovited, they just won't work. And I had enough.

Is RAM just really bad with HIDs or is it the kit? The replacements charts say it should be just fine, HIDs are compatible.

Anyway, I want to try one more time before I quit

You should probably make a separate post of your own in this Sub-Forum while detailing what Headlights your RAM originally came with. There were options for headlights that had Projectors (I think they were Halogen projectors) as well as regular halogen reflectors.

To close the thread out, when I had my inspection sticker done I requested he check the lights. It passed the luminous meter reading thingy. I am in compliance as far as Massachusetts is concerned.
