Heatpipes in a reverse ATX case?

I've been trying to find an answer to this question but a concrete answer is impossible to find. I've heard that there are wicks in the heatpipes that cause them to operate normally no matter the orientation. But I've also heard that not all heatpipes have them so reversing the orientation would render them useless. I have a P5K Deluxe and want to know if my motherboard will be OK in a reverse ATX case.

You can be sure all will work in normal ATX cases, so just avoid inverted ATX. Otherwise, you'll have to check with the manufacturers. I've heard of at least one that won't work inverted.

I have a p5b deluxe in a inverted. The stock heatsink wasn't very effective. although, i'm not sure it wold be too effective in the normal orientation.

all you can do is call the manufacturer and ask if the MB pipes are either sintered metal or micro grooved. Either one will allow a heatpipe to work in any orientation.

I have a P5K deluxe inverted in a LIan li case. It has been fine for several months now. The mobo temp will run high if you overclock but a fan will handle that quite nicely.
