Good Bye Windows 10.

Initial impressions, CatchyOS is a sport tuned Lazy man's Arch. It does preload some stuff, but, its not obnoxiously bloated.

Wayland ... so far so good. Ran XFree86 for what seems like forever, then ran Xorg for a very very long time as well. Was hesitant to trying Wayland, due to it being a gaming box, and Wayland being a bit new, but, figured I'd give it a go.

Steam works great, fired up a couple of games and they started right up. (i've already got Steam running on an Ubuntu and an Arch box, the libray install from other steam PCs in the home is working great for that too!)

Anyhow, I don't have to tell windows not to update any more. I did keep an NVME with my windows 10 install on it, so I can pull the GPU, pull the Heatsync, and reinstall it if i ever really need to boot to windows because i forgot something important ...

I'm running Plasma On this PC, long time fan of KDE going back to like 99 or 2000. Its my "main" pc more or less, 7800x3d, 9070x...

I like the UI a lot. I think I might even like it better than Aero,

Modern Plasma is really pretty, I especially like the floating task bar.

Have you tried Trinity Desktop(TDE) the modern fork of KDE 3?

I have not tried it, but checking out its webpage at https://www.trinitydesktop.org/index.php ... it does look pretty nice. I might just stick it on my minisforum BD795m pc when i get it eventually set up.

My only issue thus far with Plasma is that I havent yet had success making the background of the system tray transparent... but, ive got it on the side of my screen where I like it, and its like 45 pixels wide its just a thin sliver on the side of my screen, only using half of the vertical resolution ... so my entire start menu and task bar takes up like 1-2% of my screen
