with a 165 in an ASUS mvp-a8r-board, and with a scythe ninja coller. Graphics, cpu motherboard and case is new, I have assembled severel pc's, and I knew all along that I should be careful, but I cant find out whats wrong, and then I've found signs of pressure on the CPU.

Would the pc boot at all, if something was wrong with the cpu?
How much pressure can a 165-cpu take?

First thing I would check is to make sure your PS switch is turned on. 2nd would be to make sure the power switch connector pins to the motherboard are in the right place and connected.

If it WAS a dead CPU, depending on your motherboard, it will either give beep codes or display something on your motherboard's diagnostic LED.

My computer starts up, but nothing happens. Unfortunately, theres no speaker in the p150-kabinet, so i get no knowledge of the problem...

I have checked everything...

No speaker :/
Hdd led just blinks within blocks of 2 seconds

Make sure you have the 12v 4pin molex connected.
Well its a 6 pin for PCI-E, and its there. It says in the manual that the extra 4 pin for the motherboard is only needed in case of two ati-cards. So it seems my 2½ months of desperaton and energy put in getting this CPU, and the patient slow pace during assembling had to end like this.

Im so unbelievably sad

Have to remind my self every second of the more valuable things in life, to not slip down desperation Road...

Put the 4-pin in anyway; also, are you using a power supply that's correct for the mobo?

(I.e.; 24 pin PSU for a 24 pin motherboard?)

I have tried with the 4-pin in - no difference.
Its a brand new 430 psu fron antec. I have been trough RMA with the first, but the second one worked with my old rig, so i have reason to believe thats not the problem. Its 24 pins psu for a 24 motherboard, so thats not a problem.

Edit: have tried with a Tagan 480 PSU - same behaviour

is your vga plugged into the PSU? (it appears taht it is, but are you SURE about the only need of 4 pins for the vga? i would try with 6.....um..is a ram chip not seated fully?

Let's get this straight...you should have:
24-pin connector: main mobo power lines
4-pin connector (square shaped): 2x12V rails to power the PROCESSOR...NOT GPU
4-pin Molex connector (rectangle shaped): that's the Asus EZ-plug...extra power for PCIe if using crossfire.
6-pin connector: attached to the vga to power GPU

Make sure to connect all four!!!

Could be a dead mobo. my friend had a DFI board and it wouldent boot up at all, went back and chaged it for a Sapphire cross fire mobo, worked first time

First I just couldnt get it working. I did what I had to do, and now that seems to actually be correct.

I took the things to a computerstore, and he turned it on...and it worked out of the box ????????????????????????

We thought about the DVI/VGA-adapter being the reason, but when I came home it worked at my screen.

You see I tried messin' around with the adapter on the way, and I was one splitthought from actually get hold of another screen. I was just so focus on my fear of a broken CPU, that I didnt Serously...

To all in this thread: It made me happy on the way, seeing ppl trying to help me. Your support meant a lot!

Thank you :heart::music::wine::gift::thumbsup::beer:
