I am planning to buy a 24" LCD with 1080p support

These 2 are my best choice atm, I don't know which one I should go for in terms of quality

Acer H243H BMID 24" Widescreen LCD Monitor, 1920x1080, 2ms (GTG), 40000:1 (DCR), 300/m2 (ACM) Built-in Speakers (Retail Box)

BENQ G2412HD 24" Full HD Widescreen LCD Monitor, 16:9, 1920x1080, 2ms GTG, 40000:1 DCR, D-sub / DVI-D / HDMI

Pic for BenQ: http://images.tigerdirect.ca/s...145-2412-main01-am.jpg

I wanted to share the LCD between my PS3 and PC, and use it extensively for gaming

Or is there any other monitor I should go for?, my budget is fixed at $250 or less

The BenQ you listed has gotten some good reviews from people here in the LCD thread. And I have hear good things in general about BenQ monitors. Acer on the othe hand not so much. I'd go with the BenQ..

I heard some complaints about pink and green tint tones appearing for no reason on some benq monitors, that threw me a bit off

couldn't get more info on the problem though

None of those, get a true 24 inch one. You will be glad you did, 1920x1200 is a lot better looking on desktop and games than 1080. In games the look is a lot better, you don't get a "stretched look" on comparable 24 inch ones. Its very odd looking.

It is a noticeable difference if you compare at a store with them on side by side.

Another option is Asus VW246H (Which is what I'm using) its a very good gaming monitor IMHO,link.

BTW welcome to AT forums and don't forget to check the LCD thread at top of the video forum for more LCD info.

I hate this whole 23" monitor, 1080p 24" monitor crap. I don't get why people, and no offense to you OP, here in the states seem to be against the added cost of a true 1920x1200 24" monitor. Few people seem to want to buy real 24" ones in the states and now we see folks like BenQ move those models over seas.

Personally I use a 2400W and I would love to add another one or a 2400WD though Id prolly have to buy one used. Or this route, you can get a refub'd BenQ for under $250: http://www.unityelectronics.com/product-product_id/5308

there is no "stretched look" for games on 16:9 monitors compared to 16:10. it simply just adds a little more viewing area to the sides of games.
