ok, here's the story, i just bought a fan for my hd. It's one of those fans that you screw on the bottom of the hd and the power cord connects to the hd. Here's a picture:

well the power cord from the fan connects directly to the hd. The damn thing (power cord) wouldnt go in, so i applied a little pressure to it to force it in. I think i applied a little too much presure and i broke a piece off of the hd. The piece was the plastic that contain the 4 pins for power. I tried to solder it back together but it didnt work. So before i throw away my ibm 80 gig hd that I just bought 3 months ago, I was hoping if any of you have any suggestions before i dump it in the trash. Most importantly, i just want to retrieve the data that was inside even if it cant be fix permanently (it would be good if it could). If anyone can help, PLEASE! I am very desperate because it aint my hd . TIA
