HELP...I need DSL

I signed up for one of those 3 year contracts with MSN through BestBuy of which I'm perhaps 1 year into. At the time I lived in an apartment which I could not get DSL b/c of the inside wiring. Well now that I have realized the greatness of homeownership (and you though getting a new graphics card was a rush) I can get DSL but MSN doesn't offer it in populated areas yet (I live in Dallas).

Anyone have any thoughts as to how I can get DSL through another provider with out having to pay to get out of my current contract. Sure I could just get DSL and pay MSN $22/month for 2 more year but that isn't very smart money-wise. I don't want to pay for MSN dial-up if I have to pay for DSL.

Anybody have any ideas or know of any ISPs that will buy you out of your current contract if you sign a contract for x months/years with them?

CLAIM THAT MSN SCARES YOU AND THAT IT TELLS YOU SCARY THINGS AND YOU WANT TO CANCEL THE SERVICE

Find out how to get kicked off MSN, by violating the TOS and not having to pay the extra years. Read it carefully. Let your friend use the same dialup...

Sell the Dialup service to your friends or relatives. Since you did sign a 3-year contract, there is not much you can do. Or try negotiate with MSN, pay an one-time penalty in order to terminate the service. I think it will be around $200. But that's better than you pay $22/month for 24 more consective months.

<< seems like I'm wanting a "deal" on DSL >>

Unfortunately many people in this forum will often jump down your throat for this request. The idea behind the "Hot Deals" forum is to post hot deals that exist already. To request information on a deal, you are supposed to post in the moderator-sponsored "I WANNA" thread that is locked at the top of the thread listings. You might want to enable your Private Messages (you can do this in your profile) so that people can send you their answers in response to your post in the I WANNA thread. This thread will probably be locked.

Call MSN and see if they offer high speed access in your area. If they do, you can probably work out some type of deal.

All you need is DSL Reports

I second that DSLReports.com is an awesome website for all things DSL and broadband related.

I third the dslreports.com comment. Go there. Before you leave please chenge the thread title to "lock" that way the forum doesn't get overrun with threads that are not deals.
