help me out again guys

ok so the other day i just plugged in an old 13 gig hard drive to my computer. i allready had a 40 gig hard drive running windows but i just wanted to see what was on this drive. so then when i was done looking around i turned my computer off. then when i booted back up everthing went fine booting into windows 98. but when it was done booting my computer was sooooooo slow it took like 3-4 minutes just to open my computer when i double clicked it. whats going on. when i plug the old hd back in, everything works fine.

when you take out the old drive does win9x device manager think it's still there?

no device manager doesnt have it in there, but in my computer the drives are still there even though the hd isnt plugged in. and also in my computer they are displayed as cdrom drives.

Still got the disk enabled in your bios?
Don't think this will be the solution but you can always try.

ive tried that....this is really stumpin me guys i have no idea why the drives remain in windows even when the drive is not in the computer??
